A WALK IN THE PARK ~  PARTICULARLY GRAHAM OAKS NATURE PARK ~ WILSONVILLE, OR   My good friend and I walk together as often as we can for two reasons. One, we both need the exercise and keeping our hearts and bodies in check, and two, friendship.  A brisk walk, never ending talk and feeling so good when we are done.  That's what I'm talking about !       Our favorite place is Graham Oaks Nature Park, in Wilsonville, OR.  A 250-acre nature park with restored oak woodlands, 3 miles of trails, a park that is being restored, replanted and is just on the outskirts of the City of Wilsonville.              Within ten years, this park will look so different than it does now with the plantings that will provide what the designers call the Shape of Savanna to come.                  Graham Oaks Nat...

All About Town & Weekend Dining in Wilsonville, & Willamette/West Linn, OR   OK............its almost Friday evening and we are thinking about going to one of our favorite haunts.........hmmmmm which one.     We often frequent in Wilsonville a restaurant  Abella Italian Kitchen We love the menu, the wines and the service.  Usually we eat in the bar because it is a little more casual and seems cozier.  Meeting friends there for a good glass of wine  or a martini has become a Friday night ritual.  Sometimes they have music and sometimes it is  just the greatness of being with friends for a nice evening.           One other place we have discovered  in the last few months is a restaurant called Allium, a neighborhood bistro, in the Willamette/West Linn area.  Really great food, good s...

Feng Shui ~ How Do You Present Your Image To The World ~Your Front Entrance The front or main entrance to your home is very important as it greets society everyday  The front door, more than any other entrance, conveys to the outside world who you are, what is important to you and how you would like others to interact with you.  It is an indication of how you view or feel about yourself.  It is important that when we return home we are happy to be back into our own nurturing space through a pleasant environment, whether large or small.  If we live in an apartment and not a house we should distinguish our own special part of the block or building we live in.  We need to make it unique in some way, i.e. using plants or perhaps a different type of doormat.   Keeping the entrance of your h...

Feng Shui and the Bedroom The bedroom is considered to be one of the most important rooms in your home in Feng Shui.  Adults spend one-third of their lives in bed and children and teens often spend more time than this.  We should be as certain as we can that the bedrooms are suitable for relaxing and regenerating us as well as for encouraging romance in our lives. So, what is the first step? Why of course, de-clutter...put distractions away, knicknacks and such. Only leave what is really important to you. A Note: if you are beginning a relationship and moving in someone's house making a few changes to the home will bring harmony to the new relationship.  A new bed, new mattress set, bed linens.  These old items hold the energy of whatever transpired in that bed (especially a waterbed). ...

Great Place to Live, Work and Play ~ Wilsonville and The Willamette Valley   Wilsonville, a gateway to Oregon's wine country, located about 19 miles to the South of Portland, is sitting in a lush horticultural growing area of Oregon.  The area is known for specialty nurseries that send plants all over the world from trees and shrubs to bulbs and seeds.  We are famous for the Dahlia and Iris gardens,         peonies, day lillies, hostas plus so much more.  Hazelnut Orchards paint the hills around Wilsonville, and this industry is one of Oregon's largest.  The Willamette Valley is also known for fresh fruits and vegetables that can be purchased at roadside stands and for the vineyards that produce exquisite Merlots and Pinots.  There are many wineries that have tastings and wine tours thr...

Portland was recently deemed the "Best Big City" by Money Magazine.  It seems the rest of the country is beginning to realize the Portland Metro area is a glittering jewel on the West Coast.  It has a culture that is quintessentially west-coast, with the unique combination of a friendly home-town feel, combined with big-city opportunities.  Smaller area such as Wilsonville, Tualatin, Lake Oswego, Tigard, and West Linn, are located near Portland with many wonderful places to live while enjoying a country feel, yet being a short distance from a larger city! I live in, and work from, my home in Wilsonville, Oregon, shop mostly in Wilsonville and yet I am close to a larger city that has so many things to do and see.  Portland offers the many sides of culture from very traditional to bohemia...
