During the early stage of World War 1, in December of 1914 there was a fair amount of fraterization between the troops on both sides of the conflict. While not approved by the leaders of the war efforts the soldiers on both sides took a day for Christmas, laying down their arms on both sides and meeting in between their respective lines, "NO MAN'S LAND". They sang songs, shared tidbits from care packages and generally treated each other humanely before resuming the war. What a tribute to the Christmas season and humanity as a whole. Jews, atheists, Christians and, I am sure, many other sects were able to take one moment and put aside hatred and bigotry.
