Not all of your blogs have to be about real estate to be effective!Over the weekend at an annual social event at Fishhawk Lake (Dock Crawl), one of my neighbors told me a story about something that had happened to her young son while vacationing at Fishhawk Lake and how a post of mine helped. Around the 4th of July holiday, her son got something inside his boot that actually caused a burn on his leg. Last night at 8ish, I was driving down Fishhawk Road, and saw the fading sun glinting through the dark trees in beautiful sharp yellow-green hues. I stopped to take a few photos. Out amongst the dark limbs, I saw movement and this fella landed on a limb and sat there.I was beside myself with excitement because I NEVER get to see owls except for a quick flash of wings very occasionally. A short while back this owl flew low right in front of me in the very same area, and I was thrilled just to see him in flight. I'm positive it was the same one. At dusk is when he took flight the last time. Well, I've got his number now!!The area was so dark where he sat that I had a hard time finding him in my viewfinder. Back in March I wrote a post about how your postal carrier could save your life and our local hero, our postman, Tim Hammerberg just received a USPS award for his heroism! In an article from the publication called Get The Chief, our local Mist-Birkenfeld District Fire Chief, Joe Kaczenski had this to say about Mr. Hammberg (our Tim on the right--ever so shy): Hammerberg’s actions resulted in official recognition from the U.S. Postal Service. This Swallowtail Butterfly has been wooing me for many days now and I either never had my camera handy or as soon as I did, it flitted off, saying to me, NOT JUST YET!! Finally, while at our ranch one mile past the Fishhawk Lake community, last night as the sun was fading, it alighted upon my "window box" of flowers. Ah! I was ready!   Butterflies always feel quite magical to me and when they arrive in my sights I feel as if they are from another world offering me some sweet message from beyond...they always give me pause and make me wonder, Who is trying to tell me something?       The first one I took from across Fishhawk Lake while on my pontoon one early evening. I had always seen versions of this but couldn't get a shot of it. It is the sun reflecting in the waves against the back of a boathouse. The second one is a closeup of leaves in my herb basket after being watered over at our new ranch. The third one is this really great old thick-barked tree with a myriad of colors and I just had to take several pictures while an inspection was going on and my client was walking around the outside with my home inspector.
