"Real Estate and Other Jobs As Assigned"--How Far Do You Go for your Clients? Yesterday I received a message from one of my sellers asking if I could go turn their heat up at their vacation home as the temperatures are dropping rapidly. Well, certainly I could.  When we become our seller's home's keepers, so-to-speak, we often take on jobs that are far afield from the paperwork responsibilities laid out in the listing. Most often the sellers at Fishhawk Lake are not full time and are not local. Fishhawk Creek Stormy Waters!Please Conserve!Because of the amazing amounts of water coming being dumped from the skies above, Fishhawk Creek has caused much *turbidity in the waters below our ranch, a mile away at Fishhawk Lake. The team of employees, Kevin Adolphson and Travis Graham have been working round the clock diligently to "make water" for the residents....a very tough and arduous task with heavy rains like this that cause the Creek by the water treatment plant to be "blown out". We are asked, during times like this to conserve water. In real estate neighborhoods in more urban-type settings, you will have cell phone service. You will see open houses. You will not be picking up paper fliers. You will be able to sit in front of a property and call the listing agent. Electronic lockboxes are usually what you see. None of that applies to Fishhawk Lake real estate!And that's okay. We don't have cell service  unless you are about a half hour away. Open houses aren't successful unless you are simply wanting to say hi to your neighbors, whom you most likely already know. The good ole fashioned flyer still works here as people drive through the Fishhawk Lake community  picking up several to take back home with them (usually at least 90 minutes away).  As to calling the listing agent, well most of those are mine, and I live in... 11/07/2015

Do You Want a GREAT Moving Company?We had a tough move ahead. Downsizing from 6214 sq ft to 1500. And we live out in the sticks, waaaaaay out in the country and don't even have cell service. So I am used to companies not coming out to Fishhawk Lake. My husband has an assistant who was trying to help us by doing some research. She came up with a moving company. I called, thinking, great this is one less thing I have to do in this massive move, changing our entire lifestyle,  while also selling my home and continuing my busy real estate business at Fishhawk Lake. They don't come out here, they informed me.OH MY. So, I was back to square one. I have moved over 35 times and only once in those years did I use a moving company and that was 1979. So, I went online--blindly searching. Somehow, ... 10/30/2015

 Friday's Fotos at Fishhawk Lake-Surreptitious Species Somewhat secluded, I found these feathered friends.This bald eagle sat across the lake high up in the autumn leaves  patiently waiting and watching for fish.  A Kingfisher deftly hidden amongst the pinecones. A Great Blue Heron blending into the fallen leaves.       10/23/2015

Truth be told when you are under a great deal of stress it really helps to combine friends, humor and wine! It has been a crazy time of transition with so much happening in my world as-of-late that I don't recall the simplest things, like my own name--well--ALMOST. Not because of wine, but because of lack of sleep, unbelievable deadlines and delivery dates and keeping track of what is being remodeled, serviced/dropped off/sold/removed, you get the point. So in the midst of a giant transition selling and moving from a 6214 sq ft home to 1500 and five acres (I call it my own version of a tiny house), I decided to have friends visit from out-of-state on two different occasions about a week or two before I move.
