When The Wind BlowsYou have to love living in the country and you have to know how to deal with snow when the wind blows.The drive between our home and town in the winter can be tricky, The wind blows across the farmers fields causing white outs even when it is not snowing. The Uxbridge Real Estate Market The Year In Review - #4 in a Series Seasonal Trends. The following graphs combine 3 aspects of the housing market in Uxbridge, to show trends over a short time frame in the last year. While you will find variations from year to year there is a fairly typical trend to all three aspects in each quarter. Looking at the Last Quarter of 2012 the number of active listings were trending lower at about the same rate as sales and new listings were trending lower at a slower rate than sales. Uxbridge Real Estate Market Snapshot - Month End January 2014 With 16 reported sales even our "Deep Freeze" with it's sub zero temperatures and snowy weather did not dampen our buyer activity as sales were up 5 from last year and within the range of the last three years. The increase in the average sales price of 20.69% and our median sale price of 27.01% over January 2013 should give sellers a warm fuzzy feeling to counter our deep freeze. While there were 99 active listings at month end there were a large number of new homes included in the mix (something we do not normally have). The smaller amount of resale homes contributed to the rise in the average and median sale price. The Uxbridge Real Estate Market The Year In Review - #3 in a Series  Average Sale Price Of Homes The chart below graphically shows that, for Homes For Sale in Uxbridge, the Average Sale Price has been higher than those of the previous three years in seven of the last 12 months. With close to $150,000 difference between the low in March and the high in October you may think that Uxbridge sale prices are not very stable or that  March was the best time last year to buy.     The Great Escape - A Canadian Story An Opportunity To Learn How Big A Role Canadians Played. What a fantastic story ..... brought to life so much because we saw the movie ..... and then to hear part of his version of it.  It was well worth the time ..... It started at 1 pm...and no one wanted to leave at 5.30 when they needed the theatre cleaned out for the next movie. I purchased tickets for this event along with the signed book for Barrie for Christmas....so now I need to make a big pot of tea and go and read the book!!
