Uxbridge Real Estate Market Snapshot - Month End June 2014 Summer has finally arrived and so has the summer real estate market while home sales remained constant through June the number of properties available to view was down 14.9% from the same period last year and new listings were down 7.58% Avergae Sold Price $523,674 The median sold price of $460,000 represents an increase of 3.27% over June last year with an increase in the average sale price 7.97% to $523,674. Home Sales year to date are running slightly ahead with a 3.35% increase over last year. My  Journey Straight Up ..... We were off to Assisi again today, it is a special day so the crowds were strong ..... with most everyone carrying umbrellas. A few days ago we searched for friars...today there were crowds of them, in their flowing brown robes, with white rope belts, certainly added to the atmosphere. I took a different path today and explored other ancient streets, starting at the Cathedral of San Rufino, where we took photos of ourselves with a statue of a lion, eating the head of a martyr ..... the cathedral of St. Clare was next, with a beautiful carousel out front ..... the views, the massive amounts of stone, everywhere and everything continues to amaze me ..... the fact that it was mostly built before the 14th century ..... and remains intact today!We went to the he... 04/28/2014

My Journey Straight Up - Saturday Off To Perugia We were greeted this morning with a heavy fog ..... the view from my window was replaced with dense white mist ..... first we could see the hill tops ..... then a few houses, then the village below us ..... all within an hour. On warm days we like to sit outside to write. Today we wrote about the best moments we have experienced here ..... then we partnered up and read it, the partner then was to take the story from there and have some harm come to the writer, what fun ..... we laughed and laughed as we read the completed stories to the group ..... only four broken legs...   Writing outside ..... My Journey Straight Up - Friday A Quiet Day A quiet day today, the warmest day so far, 23 C, a gentle breeze, a few clouds. The entire group was quiet this afternoon, resting, lounging, relaxing....I am sure we are storing up for great things ahead. Our writing is fun...the prompts really encourage us to dig deep inside ourselves for inspiration. The View As I Sit In My Room And Write My Room Third Floor Upper Left   Yesterday we did poetry, most of us surprised ourselves with the finished product. Poetry is the other way of using language. My Journey - Straight Up - Grubbio We planned one day away...ending with a delicious meal out ..... and today was the day. The 2 taxis race along at 120 kilometres per hour, we tried to keep our balance as we turned one hair pin corner after another ..... what a trip! Grubbio is a medieval city built on the side of Monto Ingino  ..... a walled city, houses and buildings almost on top of each other all the way up the hill ..... with a church, The Basilica of San Ubaldo at the top, even further above that, sit the ruins of an even older church. What amazing views ..... over the tiled roof tops, sporting clay chimneys we see for miles ..... over a vast lush green valley. During times of trouble this church fort stood secure, with look outs and slots for bows and arrows or later guns. Shops... 04/25/2014

Huck Finn Fishing Day Returns - Reminiscing The Days Of Our Youth - Teach A Youth To Fish Remember what it was like to be a child when we were growing up ..... life was much simpler back then we did not have all the electronic gadgetry that today's youth have. We played out doors more and found our fun in the things that nature provided for us. Simple things like climbing a tree to catching tadpoles in the local pond kept us busy for hours.     Today's electronically oriented youth are missing out on many of the pleasures enjoyed by youth just one generation ago but thanks to Canadian Tire fishing is not one of them as the Uxbridge Youth Fishing Event returns to Elgin Pond on Saturday April 26th, 2014 I suspect Huck Finn would have had no difficulty doing all of the things on the Nation... 04/25/2014
