High Park is Toronto's largest Park, and it is located within 15 minutes of downtown Toronto.  It is one of my favourites places to visit.  I love walking through all the walking trails/bike paths and I love all the surprises along the way, whether it be a splash of colour on a mostly green 'carpet', or a steel sculpture here and there, or the 'turtle' 'slow down' signs on the road ... wild flowers growing between the rocks; massive trees everywhere ... watching the sunlight make a little waterfall sparkle; watching children chase butterflies ... On Friday, September 19th, I was mostly watching my son.  I used to bring him to the park when he was growing up.  Sometimes we rode our bikes, and sometimes we walked.  Sometimes we just visited the petting zoo ... and sometimes we drove there...

BungalowWikipedia, the free encyclopediaA bungalow (બંગલો baṅglo, बंगला baṅglā) is a type of single-storey house that originated in India. The word derives from the Gujarati word baṅglo, which in turn came from Hindustani baṅglā. It means "Bengali", used elliptically for a "house in the Bengal style". However, some people also attribute the origin of this word to Bangalore. Such houses were traditionally small, only one story, thatched and had a wide veranda. Bungalows today are a type of house that is usually single story or one and a half stories, and can be quite large. In India and Pakistan, the term bungalow refers to any single-family unit (i.e., a house), as opposed to an apartment building, which is the norm for Indian and Pakistani middle-class city living. The Indian sub-contin...

I called up a broker owner to ask if I might do a 10 minute presentation on my Home Staging services for their weekly sales team meeting. He stopped me right after I introduced myself and said... "Why should I have you in here when I have how many other Stagers calling me up every day? What makes Advantage Staging so special?" I was glad he asked as I know I offer many services that other Stagers do not such as- -over $30,000 in rental props and accessories inventory -over 250 pieces of rental artwork -a construction background for the jobs that require extra prep work before a Staging takes place -a Live Green, Live Smart certified trainer for Realtors that want to get certified as a "green" Realtor -the "go to" person for referrals to painters, renovators, electricians etc. that show ...

I recently came across a very interesting book called '1000 Places to See Before You Die' by Patricia Schultz and although I'm not sure whether or not Toronto Island made her list, it certainly should be there. In early August a friend and I decided to sail over to Toronto Island and spend a few days exploring. Although I've lived in Ontario for most of my life and have visited Toronto many times, I had never been to Toronto Island before and now, after our recent visit there, I see that I've been missing out on one of our provinces most intriguing places. While moored at Toronto Island, we were in awe of the fact that downtown Toronto was so close, and yet we felt as though we were on a distant island paradise of forests, beaches and trails. Toronto Island has an intriguing history ext...

And so it continues. Or maybe it has ended. Toronto has always had this big city - small city syndrome. Are we world class or not? Do they love us or hate us?Well, it seems that Toronto doesn't need the NFL. The CFL and the NLL (lacrosse) will do just fine for the folks at Hasbro. Toronto, as well as Montreal and Vancouver will be featured on the new Monopoly Here & Now: The World Edition. Just don't tell Torontonians that Montreal has the prestigious "Boardwalk" location...Read the PRESS RELEASE HERE. To view the ORIGINAL POSTING VISIT HERE.

I became a Mom recently... I know it was recently ... it feels just like yesterday ....only he's almost 18 years old.We have been going out for lunch or dinner, on Fridays, for as long as I can remember. At a very early age, he didn't like fast food.  He wanted to sit down with the 'big people' and learn how to use the knife and fork properly (or the chop sticks, in this case).I remember when he was 4 or 5 years old, and I'd take him for Sushi, how all the adults in the place would point and look at him eat the raw fish and just love it. (Champagne tastes, he always had, on my beer wages.)Somewhere along the line my sister introduced him to dim sum, and now it's his favourite place to go, whenever Mom has time (but we still try to have our Mom and Son 'linner' -- late lunch, early dinner...

I have a great new condominium listing this week and we have already had 8 showings booked over 2 days.  My client called and asked me if he was supposed to be controlling the schedule since some of them have been overlapping.  I told him this was a great thing and not to worry, if anything this will just drive up the demand. I also had a meeting this week with a family who wants to buy first before they sell.  I am excited to start working with them. And it is only Wednesday!

Be gentle with me.  I am a blogging virgin.  I got invited to ActiveRain about a month and a half ago and other than reading a few informative blogs wasn't sure this was anything I could use.   Boy was I wrong.  At our sales meeting this morning our sales manager spoke about the conference on using technology in the real estate business that he just got back from.  He talked about blogging and mentioned a few sites that most had heard of...facebook and myspace.  Then he mentioned ActiveRain.  He asked who were members and I put my hand up even though I had done very little with it.  He told us how informed our clients are now and how informed we need to be to compete. So this is my attempt to reach out to fellow Realtors and get to know as many of you as I can. My name is John Danzey an...

It was a HUGE pleasure to meet Colin and Justin, design duo and very loveable TV stars, at the Toronto Gift Show today. You can see I was tickled pink to be able to see my two favourite fellas wearing their kilts. They even let me look in their sporrans. I won't say what was inside! I wished them well while staying in Canada and continued success with their TV shows that help homeowners get their properties updated.

With 7,806 transactions recorded last month, the resale housing market continued at a moderate pace in July. In the City of Toronto the average price of $395,342, 10 per cent from the July 2006 figure of $360,409. Certain neighbourhoods throughout the GTA experienced increased sales activity in July. The Annex experienced a 29 per cent sales increase due to strong detached home and condominium apartment sales. In addition to stable prices, the list to sale price ratio, at 98 per cent, remains unchanged from a year ago. While homeowners continue to see healthy returns, it is taking slightly longer to achieve a sale; the average time on market has increased to 33 days compared to 31 days a year ago. This may be due to that fact that there is now more choice available to homebuyers; there ...
