Markham offers FREE Water Safety Instruction The Town of Markham is offering residents FREE water safety instruction.  The Swim to Survive program is offered free to all ages.  The program teaches the essentials needed to survive an unexpected fall into deep water. The free instruction classes are being held from July 23, 2010 to September 4, 2010. Cornell Centre Boulevard - Temporary Road Closure - Markham, Ontario The Town of Markham is temporarily closing Cornell Centre Boulevard to through traffic from 16th Avenue to Highway 7 from 12 am (midnight) on MOnday, August 16, 2010 to 12 am (midnight) on Wednesday, September 1, 2010. The reason for the road closure is to install sewers and watermains across Cornell Centre Boulevard south of Riverlands Avenue in order to facilitate ongoing construction and expansion of the Cornell community and surrounding area.
