Gananoque, On I don't think anyone can say their lives have not been touched by the Salvation Army in some way or another.  Whether it be a family member, a relative or a friend, everyone has given or received because of this fabulous organization. Last year was the first time I was able to actually donate my time rather than simply cash and I was able to stand by a kettle during the holiday period in Gananoque.  It was a humbling experience let me tell you. My kettle was at the liquour store and I was there at 10am.  (I did not even know the store would be open at that early an hour - who knew?)   Well plenty of people knew.  Plenty of regulars knew.  Plenty of regulars I knew ! It was an eyeopener for me to see that EVERYONE donated some amount to the kettle.  For some it was $100 bil...

Gananoque, ON Exciting times for Gananoque . . .  a new mayor, a new council and new funding in the amount of $301,800. to be applied to improve Joel Stone 1812 Heritage Park.  The waterfront park will be expanded to include an amphitheatre which is long overdue, plus a diorama depicting Gananoque as it was in 1812, history wall and walking pathways and a large Canadian flag.  The current, popular understanding of the term "diorama" denotes a partially three-dimensional, full-size replica or scale model of a landscape typically showing historical events, nature scenes or cityscapes, for purposes of education or entertainment. The town is also looking for further funding for new washrooms and a splash pad. The $301,800 comes from Heritage Canada under the Building Communities Through Art...

Early morning shot from my bedroom window this morning.  I thought the lovely golden glow would have been more visable  in the photo - oh well!  This is the steeple of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 175 Stone St. South in Gananoque.  There are 3 churches surrounding my home and I will be sharing photos of their steeples in the next few days.  If you are thinkin of moving to Gananoque, we have many churches for many religions.  The majority are beautiful examples of pre victorian architecture.  I'd be happy to assist you in finding the church of your choice.

I have wonderful clients who LOVE animals as much as I do and that is saying alot!!!  Lexi, one of their 3 dogs, has hip dysplasia.  She is a gorgeous Newfoundland that you just want to hug the minute you meet her!!! Poor Lexi was in a great amount of pain and became the first dog in Canada to undergo this magnificent stem cell treatment.  All went well and her 'Mum' says "The hardest part of theprocess has been keeping her 'quiet' since the surgery!  " Soon (I hope)  humans will be allowed to benefit the same as our pets from this amazing treatment!

Is this not a fantastic birthday gift that I received from my dogs?!!  (actually from my brother Tim who designed this certificate too!)   Every Monday I can stop in and get an unbelievably great latte prior to our sales meeting -  I like mine with an extra expresso shot!  Yum   If you're ever in the neighbourhood, give me a call and we'll meet up at the Pig!! PS -  Don't forget, this would make a great Christmas gift too!

A woman shoots her husband.  Then, she holds him under water for over five minutes.                                                                       Finally, she hangs him.  But, five minutes later, they both go out and enjoy a wonderful dinner together.                                                                                              How can this be?

I've never had a mobile home listed for sale before and when my dear former clients called and asked if I would put their home on the market, I didn't hesitate.   The place is in amazing condition and even has a grand piano in the living room. I listed it for sale at $84,500 and had an offer the very first day!  Hurray, rejoicing all around.  Not so much cheering when this offer fell apart.  Not to worry . . .  offer #2 arrives a few days later.  Then offer #3 & #4 also crashes and burns.   What I didn't realize is that people who want to buy these mobile homes are usually people who are going to have trouble getting financing !!! What was going to be a sale in a week, became 120 days on the market!!!!! I am happy to say, as of today we have a FIRM SALE on this home.  My Sellers are abl...

Gananoque, On This weekend, at our Emo's Eating Emporium,  we're having 10 people over for dinner.  Summer is coming to an end so I thought I'd prepare a meal we could eat indoors or out, weather depending To begin, I've chosen a Shrimp Salad which has me intrigued as it combines cinnamon, coriander, chili flakes and mint with fresh lime juice, served in a martini glass!  I've never tasted it before so I'll let you know but it sounds pretty tasty, doesn't it?! For our main course, we'll be enjoying individual Pork Wellingtons.  I've made beef and I've made salmon wellington but I've never tried pork so this will be fun.  I'm already marinating the pork in sherry and soy so it will be quite tasty on its own.  Around it, there will be garlic and chili spinach, goat cheese, and prosciutto ...
