I attended a GREAT RODEO last night AND it’s still going on!  You can attend and have a GREAT TIME TOO!  The Paris Rodeo and Horse Club is having their annual rodeo RIGHT NOW at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds, 570 East Center Street, Paris, Texas.  I’m a country gal and one of our sons, DV Fennell is a cowboy, a REAL cowboy!   He has rodeoed for several years,  placed well enough to make two trips to compete in the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.   Now here’s a secret.. shhhh.. Luna is a Wire Haired Terrier that is full of love & gives the best kisses. She enjoys playing in the yard but also loves to snuggle on the couch & watch tv.     She gets along GREAT with kids, cats & dogs of all sizes, but she prefers to have small to medium size dogs to play with.       She spends most of her time wiggling around your feet just waiting to be loved on & shown some affection.     She can't contain her excitement when she sees you walk through the door or hears you call her name.     Her crate is her favorite place to sleep, other than the couch of course!       She is crate trained & actually ENJOYS being in there to chew on her bones & curl up on her blanket.       She is still shy & a little timid around new people, but she warms up to them in time. The Drought is Definitely Over in McCurtain County Oklahoma     Last summer, Southeast Oklahoma went through a terrible drought.  Many cattlemen bought feed through the summer for the cattle because there was not any grass for them.  The pastures turned brown and the grass crunched under your feet when you walked on it.  Lake levels were low and the heat was almost unbearable.         It brought people to their knees, literally.  Many prayers were said about the situation, churches held prayer meetings to pray for rain.    We prepared to have to deal with a shortage of hay and feeding for an extended amount of time..    Then the rains came.. Beautiful wet stuff from the sky, washing away the dust and making the grass grow.      Not only that but this winter has been mild and fairly war... 02/07/2012

Our Granddaughter, Chassy Barrett was selected as one of ten high school students from across the nation to travel, with their adult mentors, to Washington DC for a shadow day at the Department of Transportation.  The ten students   and their mentors are all involved in Project Ignition in their respective schools from across the country. The students will explore job opportunities, be honored by the Secretary of Transportation, Ray LaHood at a small luncheon, meet with the National Highway Traffic Safety Association, and talk with Washington officials about how Project Ignition youth are demonstrating leadership in their communities through their efforts to improve driving behavior. Brewing Tea From Your Flower Garden ~ In Oklahoma, you say??  YES!! I am a Tea Sipper.  A Tea Fanatic.  I love hot tea, iced tea, lukewarm tea, any-way-you-want-to-serve-it tea...as long as it's FRESHLY BREWED.  Don't give me any of that canned tea or in-the-jug tea from the grocery store of convenience store.. NAH!  Nasty stuff.. please don't jump on me if you like pre-made store bought tea...we're talking fresh tea here. My mother-in-law has a beautiful Camellia bush in the flower bed at the front of the house.  It is about 10 feet tall, has beautiful waxy leaves and is an evergreen.. brightens up the yard even in the winter.  When it blooms, it has gorgeous white flowers.  Recently I ran across something about Chinese tea coming from Camellia Sinensis, a different variety of camelias... 12/15/2011

Ruger is a 9 month old pup that appears to be Mountain Cur and American Staffordshire Terrier. He is a very playful, intelligent and affectionate puppy. He interacts well with children and other animals.....large and small(as pictured here).  He weighs 45 lbs and stands 22" high at the shoulders. He knows how to use a doggie door and walk on a lead. Ruger doesn't challenge a fence, but does still exhibit some chewing. Ruger has been neutered, vaccinated and de-wormed. Lizzie is a young adult female approx. 1-2 yrs old. She has very pretty colors of dapple gray, white and brown. She appears to be a Catahoula and Australian Shepherd mix.  She is leash trained and is easily managed. She is also crate trained. She is very sweet and good natured and likes other dogs both small and big and is good with children. She does have a special need as both of her light blue/gray eyes have pupils that are somewhat irregular. Lizzie is able to see although her vision may be limited.
