It's been quite a while since I've mentioned the road construction projects around Monroe Ohio.  I just thought I'd share a little update with you. The entrance/exit ramps on to and from I-75 are pretty much done.  The flow of traffic has improved dramatically.  However, when the weather clears, it appears there are still some things to be finished. I'd like to thank the people who've been involved with making the projects become realities.  They are more proof to the area that Monroe is positioning itself to become a big player within the Cincinnati and Dayton Ohio corridor area. The outlet mall is open and thriving.  There are a ton of big name stores there which help to attract more and more visitors to the area on a daily basis.  From what I've read, there are already plans for more...

I know every year it seems like there is the "toy of the year".  Well, word on the street is they are Zhu Zhu hamsters this year.  I have NO IDEA what they even are, lol. I would imagine though they can be found at the new Cincinnati Premium Outlet Mall in Monroe at the intersection of I-75 and St. Rt. 63.  And surely if you can't locate them there, I'd almost guarantee they can be found at Monroe's famous Traders World Flea Market. Well, if you aren't sure where either one of those places are located, just look for the famous "Touchdown Jesus" or "Butterball Jesus" or "giant Jesus" among the many names the huge tribute to Jesus has been known for.  The Solid Rock Church spared no expense when they created this enormous statue a few years ago. Monroe has such a diverse variety of places...

I don't know about the rest of you, but I think it sure would have been nice to have had our ODOT have the highway and exit projects DONE prior to the opening of the Outlet Mall in Monroe.... However, the added jobs and boom to the local economy is most welcomed!

The I-75 and St. Rt. 63 interchange is STILL a MESS! If you come to our area, especially on the weekends, be prepared for long traffic delays.  I'm thrilled to pieces with the recent opening of the Cincinnati Premium Outlet Mall (although I haven't been there yet as I don't want to fight the crowds).  It is a big boom to our local economy with the added jobs and revenues. However, I would have been even more excited if our transportation department had started all of the road construction several months before they did in order to accomodate for the HUGE influx of visitors. Anyway, enough said...

I have a very nice two story in Easton Manor coming on the market next week. The owners have taken great care of this home. If you are looking for a house but don't want the hassle of lawn maintenance, Easton Manor in Monroe is your answer. The community cares for the lawn here so you can enjoy the privacy and square footage of a traditional home with the benefits you would normally only find in a condo. It's a very unique neighborhood and close to everything, including our new outlet mall! Email me if you would like to be put on my list to see or show this home.

With all of the doom and gloom in today's headlines; at least Monroe Ohio has something positive to boast about.  They are on a continuous cycle of growth.  If you don't believe me; check out the explosive project along the I-75 and St. Rt. 63 interchange.  It's Monroe's latest and greatest!  Cincinnati Premium Outlet center is growing as fast as the dandelions in my lawn during the spring!  It is supposed to be open later this summer 2009. Hopefully, it will add several hundred new and needed jobs to the area as expected.  Even with the slowing economy, I'm quite certain the parking lot will be full upon the opening for many months to follow. There isn't anything like it within several miles and it has a perfect location, Monroe Ohio!

The construction activity around Monroe clearly defines the need for the new "latest and greatest" interstate interchange at Interstate I-75 and State Route 63.  Work has already begun on this project and although local motorists have been inconvenienced and detoured, it will be a blessing to all upon completion. This is rumored to be the latest design and is expected to utilize non-stopping transportation.  Motorists are expected to enter and exit the highways without having to stop.  This will be a wonderful improvement to the current situation.  It's expected to aid in the continuous movement of traffic in all directions. These changes will be VERY welcomed, especially when the new Outlet Mall opens in 2009.  Rumor also has it that this project will far outshine some of our local citi...

This coming winter work is to begin on a new park in Monroe.  The Monroe Crossings Park includes 27 acres of land near the intersection of St.Rt.63 and St.Rt.4.  The park will host sports fields, a recreational trail, a BMX track, playground, shelters, concession stand, restrooms and more.  This is a HUGE deal for Monroe.  With the rapidly expanding population, we needed something like this for the families and children.  It may take a couple of years to be fully developed but it will be money well spent.  Thanks to everyone who has and who will participate in the birth and growth of this valued community asset!

Monroe Ohio has several new subdivisions currently underway and ones already built.  There are so many price ranges available, it would be hard NOT to find one that you would fit in.  We have Brittony Woods which features Ryan homes; Wyandot Woods with Maronda homes; Monroe Crossings with several popular builders to choose from.  (check out www.monroecrossings.com )  There's Bridle Creek with Drees and Inverness homes, this subdivision has numerous gorgeous homes in several price ranges.  We also have Brittony Trails, which is currently building Cristo homes which are also in Easton Manor.  Don't forget about Country Estates either.  Monroe Meadows, Apple Gate and Colonial Manor round out my list for now.  There are also several older subdivisions to choose from as well. I know there may...

One of my neighbors became a new landlord last year. He bought 2 preconstruction homes with the idea of turning them into rentals and having them pay for themselves. This is a good plan if you have worked out all the details but a quick way to problems if you do not have a professional working with you and an exit plan if things don't work out.   His story is that when he set the rental amount he worked off the current payment. Now a year later the taxes on the properties have been assessed and are costing him another 250.00 per month. The interest rate on his adjustable mortgage has also went up and is costing him an extra 80.00 per month. This is costing him an extra 330.00 per month that he had not planned on. By the way he never planned on having any vacancies and you guessed it o...

Monroe Monroe was named in honor of President James Monroe who took office when the city was being settled.  Monroe, 22 miles north of Cincinnati and 25 minutes southwest of Dayton was a major stagecoach stop on the Great Miami Turnpike. It's a city of sturdy little homes that have been standing for a hundred years or more. These historical structures, with their neat lawns and gardens in the rear, have a dignity all their own. Monroe is situated in a thriving area and is convenient to the industrial valley. This blending of old and new gives the city an exciting lifestyle for homebuyers of all ages. TransportationMonroe is located on I-75. St. Rts. 63 and 4 run through the heart of the city. HospitalsMiddletown Regional Hospital is about a 15-minute drive. Hospitals in Dayton, Centervi...
