                 This home inspection in Berea, Ohio revealed obvious water intrusion into the basement. From the formation this intrusion more than likely is coming from the sewer connection that leads straight up this wall on the exterior portion of this wall and then connects into the downspout. Most often the downspout and the sewer connection leading to the downspout becomes filled with debris (leaves, helicopters, ect..). Then the winter comes and without cleaning the system out, the water gets trapped in this pipe, and freezes. Any water that is above the three foot frost line will freeze. When this happens the frozen water expands and cracks the old clay tile pipe.  Then the spring comes and now you have an open hole in the system.
