Westchester is such a beautiful place in the Fall.  Lately, I've just loved my journeys on the highways.  The rides are simply beautiful with the trees changing.   Today, I was in West Harrison, and right before I stopped, I saw this really cool tree.   The PRICE Is the Same, But the COST Is Less There is more and more research coming out showing that it makes great financial sense to purchase a home today . Whether it be rent vs. buy ratios, income-to-price ratios or income-to-mortgage payment ratios, purchasing a home right now is a bargain compared to historic norms. Now we want to look at the COST of a home today compared to pre-peak prices. According to the most recent S&P Case Shiller price index, residential real estate values have returned to 2003 1Q PRICEs. I had a fun afternoon with family today watching my 7 yr old niece in an Elementary school production of Peter Pan.  It was fun seeing all the kids so enthusiastic. On Thurs, my niece called to make sure I was coming and described all the songs she would be participating in.  She complained about how ugly her costume was...and then said "since you're so good at redesigning floors and kitchens, do you think you can redesign my costume?"  I couldn't stop laughing.
