Mad Science At The Challenger Learning Center The Town of Ramapo sponsors some great summer programs.  With all the novel things to do this summer, I'm beginning to wish I were a kid again.  One of my favorite Town of Ramapo attractions is the Ramapo Challenger Learning Center.  In addition to the space camps that they are running there, there's another specialty camp they'll be sponsoring this summer - Mad Science. If I were a kid I'd be hard put which of the programs to pick.  Space camp and a chance to experience simulated missions to space and build and launch rockets or Mad Science and the chance to build robots and work on designing and building crazy machines and contraptions. There will be hands on projects and campers can explore the technology used in robotics, work on project...

Springtime Flower Arranging  Finally, it's beginning to look and feel like Spring is here.  The daffodils have come and gone, the tulips are starting to bloom and all around the county we're seeing cherry blossoms and apple blossom trees blooming.  I just love it. Well, it's time to start bringing some of those flowers indoors.  The Ramapo Valley Garden Club and the Suffern Free Library sponsored a program yesterday  at the library featuring Cathy Miller who created floral arrangements using fresh and dried flowers.  Cathy has been the dried flower designer for several U.S. Presidents, designing more than 60 flower arrangements for them.  She demonstrated some arrangments and shared some of her memories of presidents and first ladies she hasworked with in the past. Don't you just love t...
