The 10801 zip code encompasses the Jefferson Elementary School, Colombus School, the  Webster School and some homes in the Davis Elementary School. If I were seeking to look at recently sold homes for  a particular home, I would first seek the same homes in similar size, and same elementary school and then zip code. Since there are not too many homes in this zip code, for the purpose of this report, I have just included the homes in the Columbus, Trinity, Jefferson & Webster School Districts. There are currently 43 Active Listings in the 10801 zip code, 8 homes in Contract, 3 homes pending and 25 homes sold in the past 6 months.  The low sales price was $265,000, Median Sales price was $530,000 and the High sales price was $839,000. The price per sold square foot was $266.10. There were...

The Glenwood Lake area, New Rochelle 10801 has always been very desirable and generally covers Lincoln Avenue to Webster, and over to Mayflower Avenue.  Glenwood Lake itself covers 6 acres, and is a great place where you can go and while away an afternoon in a tranquil setting. It was originally named after a Captain Bergholz who owned a marvelous estate along with his wife, Mary (the entry pillars still remain at Holly Drive). The lake's name was changed to Glenwood Lake when it was bequeathed to the city, and while the city owns the lake, the Glenwood Lake Association takes care of it.They publish a newsletter entitled "The Back Fence." It is an authoritative newsletter, full of good tips, news on how the association has a 'clean-up day' around the lake - all to make it that always de...

Peter Faneuil We all know that there is a Faneuil Hall in Boston, built in 1742 by the wealthy French merchant, Peter Faneuil. Did you know that he was born in New Rochelle on June 20, 1700? His wealthy parents fled France after the 1685 revocation of the Edict of Nantes, and Benjamin Faneuil had traveled to America some 10 years earlier, married Anne Bureau in 1699, and sired three daughters and two sons. Having first arrived in Massachusetts, and in liking that area, Benjamin's brother, Andrew, made Boston his permanent home. Peter, Andrew, and Benjamin Jr. moved to Boston after Peter’s father died when Peter was 18 years of age. Andrew became one of Boston's wealthiest merchants, and Peter helped his brother -in law, Henry Phillips, escape to France after he killed Benjamin Woodbrid...

I am fortunate to have some clients..... I love being with them, and we are all looking to dining out once the property is in contract ... The house has wonderful curbside appeal, is just 1400 square feet but to me seems much larger... has a wonderful kitchen, new pavers  on the front walkway, side walkway (and an arbor), and a pavered rear patio -  all in addition to a deck with an awning..   The house is being offered at just $449,000 - the taxes are approx $11,213....    and to celebrate Memorial Day Weekend, there will be a garage sale 10-4 p.m. both Saturday 5/28 and Sunday 5/29  AND a public open house (for those early risers) on Saturday, May 28th  from 10-12 Noon... Sounds good to me!   New Rochelle is GREAT!

When people think of buying a home in the suburbs, not only are they contemplating perhaps a future family, ease of travel to and from the city, but sometimes, they are seeking a sense of community. What better way of encompassing that then to join a Homeowner's Association or perhaps initiating one. Paine Heights in New Rochelle's estate area has a Paine Heights Association, and Glenwood Lake has the Glenwood Lake Association. They publish a newsletter entitled "The Back Fence." It is an authoritative newsletter, full of good tips, news on how the association has a 'clean-up day' around the lake - all to make it that always desirable community, rich in spirit and energy. It mentions how Greg Varian (President of the New Rochelle Public Library) was a guest speaker at the April 20thmee...
