One of my friends sent this site to me this week and it is one of the coolest sites I have seen in a while.  Called Newseum  it displays daily newspaper front pages from around the country in their original, unedited form. I finally got a chance to sit down and watch Mondays episode of the Oprah show with Elizabeth Smart and her dad.  I had never known her father was a full time Real Estate Agent at that time.  Now he no longer practices Real Estate for he is a full time child safety advocate.  I thought Elizabeth looked fantastic and I was so happy that she seemed so relaxed and happy herself.  Thank goodness her story has a happy ending.        On the Oprah site they provided a few things that I thought might be of interest.  The first is a 76 page book that Elizabeth helped write along with several other abduction survivors called You're Not Alone.  It is a free download.  The second is a list of organizations and resources relating to abductions supplied by Ed Smart.               02/06/2009

As those of you who often read my blog may know, I am very proud of my children.  They have done well in school (so far) and are just good kids.  One of the things that I feel helped to put them on this path was an early exposure to books.  Reading is basic to all school work and can bring joy to a person throughout their lives.  Parents with young children should bring them to a library or bookstore often and should read with them every day.   The Cornell Cooperative Extension of Orange County,a wonderful resource for so many things, is presenting a six week program for parents and caregivers of children from 0 - 7 years old called Bookstart.  This fun approach to books and language activities will be held Tuesday mornings from 9:15 - 11:15 AM beginning Tuesday Feb 10, 2009.  The fee f... 01/27/2009

So you are getting married.  Congratuations!  It is exciting to start to plan a life together with the one you love.  Planning the wedding involves so many little details.  The day must be everything you have ever dreamed of.
