I still have not heard from any one regarding the cyber knife...This is the day that I will be taking my husband into Boston to discuss this procedure.  If you or anyone you know has had this experience would you kindly email me or answer with a comment on this blog.  It is very important to us to hear from you even if it is just an encouraging word or two.  I hope that this is not too difficult a request from you all, but we are very concerned about this.   Lucille Noble (lnoble@weichertdunhill.net)

This is a plug for the the upcoming 13th Annual Luxury Real Estate Fall Conference. I thought I'd just say that at the start. I hope to talk about some more meaty things soon, since there is so much trouble going on because of foolish greed, but today I'll focus on this positive opportunity to network with fellow luxury brokers.Rosita Sarnoff, the Executive Vice President of Stribling & Associates, Ltd., recently shared some great activities her company is planning for Luxury Real Estate members who are attending the Post-Conference Networking Trip to New York City from Oct. 14-16, 2008. This Networking Trip will begin right after the Luxury Real Estate Fall Conference in Philadelphia. From 3-7 p.m. on Oct. 15, Rosita said that Luxury Real Estate members will enjoy tours of magnificent l...

Do you remember where you were when first hearing the news? What was your first thoughts?  I still remember to this day, exactly where I was. I was at a red light, just about to make a left turn, about 500 yards from my office. My first thought was what kind of idiot would fly that close and hit a building. Was it a mistake?  Did the pilot fall asleep?  My mind was racing. As I drove up to the parking lot, there was another news flash that another plane just flew into the South Tower.  At this time, I knew it wasn't an accident and my adrenaline was rushing strong. I ran into the office, a few of my co-workers just settling into their seats, not knowing what happened. I ran into my bosses office and turned on the tv. We sat there watching for about 45 minutes. It wasn't more than about...

Firefighter is a beautiful red hybrid tea which is the first of the nine roses to be named for the Remember Me Rose Gardens to honor the 343 firefighters who died on September 11, 2001 while trying to save lives in the World Trade Center.  Firefighter also honors those men and women who risk their lives daily to protect ours.  Firefighter is a tall hybrid tea about 5-6 ft tall with a perfect flower form, about 4-6 inches.  Petal count is about 40-45 and has a very strong fragrance.  Firefighter won the City of Portland Gold Medal Award for 2007.  I planted two Firefighter rose bushes, one on each side of my walkway and when they are in bloom, you can smell the sweet fragrance as you walk by.  Right now, they are about 5 ft tall and full of blooms. The psyche of our Nation has been deeply impacted by this tragic event.  September 11 will never be "just another day" ever again...  I, like many others, mourned those innocent people who did nothing wrong, but showed up for work in the morning.  They were all someone's mother, someone's father, son, daughter, brother, friend, loved one.  I, like many others, put myself in their shoes, imagining myself just showing up for work in the morning and ending up throwing myself out the window, just to gain a few more precious moments of life before hitting the ground... I imagined my little girl finding out that her momma had died.  I imagined my mother's heart breaking.  I imagined all my friends missing me...  and then I cried.  Heavy tears of sadness.  We all did.  We marched forward and ...

I remember 7 years ago today. Remembering 9/11-I will never forget. Today lower Manhattan is thriving with new residential buildings, restaurants, stores, families and strollers. The trend of people fleeing lower Manhattan after 9/11/01 has reversed. Battery Park City, Tribecca and the financial district have become very desirable popular neighborhoods. In fact the population below Chamber street has doubled since 9//11/01. Most of the new buildings and all the new buildings in Battery Park are "green". In fact a new "green" concrete icrete designed for the Freedom Tower at ground zero is the highest strength concrete ever poured in the history of New York. Since its introduction at the Freedom Tower less than a year ago the new concrete has been poured in over 30 construction sites fr...

This is the one day out of the entire year that is the most difficult for me.  Living in New York and loving New York City I am, as SO many others still devastated by the losses of 9/11/2001.  Loss of life, of course--many, many wonderful lives and a feeling of loss of Freedom.  Since that day when traveling to New York City for a Feng Shui Consultation you can see all the uniforms at Penn Station which is somehow a sight I never get used to. There are cutbacks now as well on our Security but I have always wondered how safe they can REALLY make New York City.  We have power planrs but we do NOT have a no fly zone over them...WHAT?  Senator Joe Kennedy has been lobbying for years to get a no fly zone there but he's not been successful.  On the news today it was reported that our Mayor Bl...

Who’s not happy with their $53 Million Plaza Suite? Having just visited New York, I was especially interested in this article. Financier Andrei Vavilov is basing the $31 million lawsuit on a bait-and-switch scam. If you are interested in seeing condos here on the west coast, call me at 310-285-7515, or email me. Some people had tears rolling down their eyes....even now, almost 30 years later.  From some of my previous posts you may know that this Manhattan Feng Shui Consultant LOVES Central Park; Back to Nature--Central Park in New York City! by Feng Shui Long Island  and although I've been to Strawberry Fields before I don't spend much time there.  It is still very sad for me too, even now.  But my friend   Fernando Rosado ASP, president IAHSP PBC 561-906-0050 or 561-840-8950 : Fernando's Home Staging Blog   requested some photos (how did he know I had just visited there?).  Feng Shui Consultant Laura Cerrano and I went to Central Park in New York City less then two weeks ago for a last beautiful summer walk through the Park. It  was a beautiful weekday and Central Park, as usual was crowded. ...

Feeding The Hungry Ghosts from a New York Feng Shui Perspective--by Carole Provenzale, Feng Shui Long Island New Yorl As a Feng Shui Consultant, I work most often in New York City and Long Island.  Years ago, here, we heard the occasional story of a "haunted house."  Most people assumed there was something wrong with the owners who were imagining things. Until the story of The Amityville Horror House on Long Island.  People came from all over to pass the house of the famous DeFeo murder scene with these poor people shot in their beds at night.  Many did believe that house on Ocean Avenue in Amityville on Long Island New York WAS "haunted" because of the horrible ways these people met their deaths. In my old days of parapsychology instruction at a local college, we were taught that there...

I have recently sold 8 properties to 8 very happy purchasers in southeast Florida.  These homes are located in Bal Harbour, Fort Lauderdale, Lauderdale by the Sea, Hollywood Beach, Sunny Isles Beach and Aventura Florida.  Prices are down 30 to 40% in most areas and the homes are basically in great shape.  The foreclosure market has put selling pressure on the sellers that are not in financial trouble to price their homes competively.  Declining market conditions have been around for 3 years and the prices people are buying at are at 10 year lows.  What a Great Time to Buy. The inventory to choose from is substantial and it does take a little time to look at but I have the patience to work with you to find that perfect home.  There are condominiums on the ocean, waterfront homes and urba...

Who would buy a home for $750,000,000?  Apparently somebody did and set a new record for the most expensive home in the world.  The previous record was for a London home sold for about $236 million and bought by Indian billionaire Laksmi Mittal for his son.  An anonymous Russian billionaire pays $750 Million for a historic villa on the French Cote d'Azur - Villa Leopold , a turreted cream colored mansion with two guest houses has the most spectacular grounds - 20 acres of gardens and terraces planted with olive trees, lemons and oranges and towering cypress trees.  It takes 50 full time gardeners to maintain the ground alone. Villa Leopolda was originally built for King Leopold II of Belgium in 1902, presumably for his mistresses.  In 1916, the villa was turned ...

Never write things down - rely on your good memory. Book EVERY call that you get and go to the one that pays the most. Use the same stamp for life - after you cut off the "99" from the date then cut off the "19" and just write in the 2000 year. Never clean your stamp. Dress shabby - looking poor might get you a tip. Arrive late - they will appreciate you more when you finally show. Ignore all rules - backdate, fax notarizations, loan out your stamp and seal when you are on vacation - for a commission of course. Curse out the loan officer when the docs are late or over 50 pages. Shrink all e-docs to cheaper letter paper - legal paper costs too much anyway. Ship completed signings only on Saturday - it's easier to find parking. Bait and Switch all "signing companies" demanding double the...

(Photo Credit: Edward Reed) Mayor Bloomberg, Billy Joel, Clive Davis, and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum announced that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum will open an annex in New York City in the heart of SoHo. When the 25,000 square foot annex opens in November, it will be the first location outside the Museum's home in Cleveland. The announcement took place at 76 Mercer Street, the future site of the annex. The state-of-the-art facility will focus on the defining moments in rock and roll history and will be designed to resonate with both the casual music fan and the seasoned rock enthusiast. It will feature an array of exhibitions, including a permanent "New York Rocks" gallery that will highlight key locations around New York City that have musical significance. The...

New York City ALWAYS amazes me!  Manhattan has it's own special charm and appeal and you can meet some pretty wonderful people.  I certainly of met my share but I'm not sure if I've met any as wise as this New York City cab driver,  What a New York Consultant can learn about Life.  Wise Words for all to read.  Thank goodness for our special Manhattan cab drivers : ) I came across this message sent to me in an email.  Rarely if ever does anything strike me as being so true and I LOVED this inspirational story.  I went to look for it on the Internet and soon I found it.  I have always believed I learn as much (if not more) from others as they learn from me and apparently many others do as well. I enjoyed every second of it and believe you will as well.  It is reprinted with the owner's ki...

Hello ActiveRain Groups, I've been keeping my eye on the Craigslist Foundation because they host interesting networking events. One up and coming gathering has me very excited because I've been working behind the scenes to help create some non-profits with a few of my Club Chaos members (and it would be really nice to see Barbara Ries formalize her ministry work). There is a lot of research and paperwork involved when one contemplates forming a Non-Profit, so when something useful pops up to help one make an informed decision, I usually send someone off to explore the information on their own. I thought this particular upcoming event contained some very interesting information and realized it actually deserved a mention, so here I am firing off a blog to get your collective attention. I...

This turtle run was inspired by my girlfriends Elizabeth Weintraub, (NY Times, About.com) a Sacramento Real Estate Broker for Lyon Real Estate and Poppy Dinsey of Zoomf, London, UK. It is dedicated to a very talented gentleman, Gary Woltal, a Dallas Ft. Worth Realtor at Keller Williams Realty and my dear friend Melody Botting of Melody Botting RE/MAX Empire Realty. Mel gives us a taste of her vacation in the U.K. with her blog entitled, "Subaru Family Bragging Rights." In "It All Counts," Gary presents some excellent talking points about how we influence people with our words. My favorite thought includes this partial quote from Leo Buscaglia: "Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all...

The year was 1977, New York City, on the verge of bankruptcy, dreary, dark, crime was rampant. It was like a scene of Gotham City from "Batman." Real estate was so bad; the City of NY became the biggest landlord in the city as landlords abandoned their buildings, the city obligated to pick them up and keep them running.  So how is it that now, just 30 years later, the NYC real estate market is hotter than ever and everywhere you turn you see the slogan "I Love NY". Even if you're not from NY, more than likely you've seen this or a similar slogan such as "I Love John" or "I Love TX". How did this "I Love . . . " craze begin? We even have a group here on Active Rain called "I Love NY". You must have wondered how or when this started.  Last year, I've had the privilege of speaking with the...
