Yesterday morning was a gorgeous morning for a hike in Harriman State Park, which is located in Orange County, NY. Walking from the parking lot, before even getting to the trail, an amazing site met our eyes.  There were hundreds of spiderwebs on both sides of the trail, which were only visible because they were still covered in dew.   Each one contained a spider, sitting in wait for his morning meal.  Imagine though, on a normal day when the dew isn't helping to highlight these spiders?  Imagine taking a stroll through the grassy field, without knowing that every foot or less had a spider just sitting there?  Imagine brushing your legs or hands or finger tips against hundreds of webs?   Eewwwwwww. Central Valley - The Monroe-Woodbury School District has received 10 applications for the post of schools superintendent, including one internal candidate. In order to trim the field of contenders, the school board asked Terrence Olivo, chief operating officer for Orange-Ulster BOCES, to review the candidates. Olivo, who retired as Monroe-Woodbury superintendent several years ago, forwarded four of the applicants for consideration. School Board President Dr. Michael DiGeronimo said these candidates will be asked to complete a final application by the end of November. A schedule for interviews will be established in December. MONROE - Fears that a liberal presidential administration will impose more restrictions on gun ownership have triggered a frenzy of gun buying at local suppliers, who are struggling to restock their shelves with firearms and ammunition.
