I think I am a little late on this suggestion, but I have 3 kids in the public school.  This year, my older kids took my youngest on a bicycle ride to his school to show him his classroom and to have him accustomed to what he'd see the first day.  Yes, he's in 3rd grade now and can make his way on his own.  But, it was nice to have his sisters showing him the school they went to (and did his parents and two grandparents).   Now, he now where to go when he walks in the building for the first time this year.  He knows what the room looks like, and he'll have fewer surprises.  Keeping kids happy, mellow, clear-headed and without fear gets easier as our children get older.  But, it's important to help out when our kids are young. So, while the weekend is upon us, we'll be finishing off our ...

Warding Off the Evil Eye on Long Island NY:  A Feng Shui Long Island Perspective As a Feng Shui Consultant on Long Island New York, I am often asked about another belief many of my clients have:  The EVIL Eye.   This subject has come up so often that I've written about it twice before:  New York Feng Shui and The EVIL Eye by Feng Shui NY Consultant Carole Provenzale  Actually, if you read the last comment on this post it is from a woman named Regina.  She swears she has been afflicted by the Evil Eye for many years; she goes on to write that at one time someone was able to remove it but it came back.  It's a very sad comment. I had also done a Feng Shui Consultation for a client in our lovely Long Island town of Huntington New York.      New York Feng Shui Art:  What's 650 HOURS of YOUR...

According to an interesting article: Condo Prices Give Pause on NYTimes.com, the Long Island market has been at a standstill, much due to the face that the number of homes, condominiums and cooperatives on the market is growing and tighter lending restrictions are in place, which have reduced the amount of eligible buyers.  However, these market conditions have further fueled buyers to seek bargains within the condo/co-op market.  However, the article further illustrates that many brokers selling condos in the Nassau area are charging more than buyers are willing to pay.  Brokers argue, that buyers can get a house and pay less in taxes than in common charges and condo taxes combined.  Read the entire article: Condo Prices Give Pause on NYTimes.com
