For Easter Sunday, I spent the day with family checking out vintage cars in Garden City, NY and later enjoyed some hibachi! My father is a huge fan of classic cars and this type of event always brings a smile to his face. At the same time, I receive a free lesson in classic car identification.  Do I have any favorites? Apollo 13 45th Anniversary Celebration with Lovell, Haise and Kranz Yesterday evening was some treat at the Cradle of Aviation in East Garden City/Union Dale NY. This was a special night because not only was it honoring the two astronauts and flight director and the NASA team who helped return them home safely from this mission. It was a rare event.  I had much of Sunday to myself, with nobody dictating my time but me.  After going through a little debate with myself, trying to decide the wisdom of going to the mall on a *gasp* weekend, I voted to give it a try, even telling a friend who came along for the ride, that we would only stay if I could easily park.  Otherwise we'd consider it a short drive for its own sake and head off for a leisurely lunch.
