TannStarr.com      ClubChaosAgents.com     Carolyn Tann-Starr It appears my miniature photographs at this link were not what a few of you were expecting. Here's a more detailed shot. Can you see it now? (LOL) Just teasing. :-) I keep thinking I should do a small coffee book on this. I have a lot of nice photographs of Shea Stadium. Okay, maybe a couple of hundred (LOL). It's bittersweet to see this coming apart tier by tier and I've certainly spoken a lot on the subject at hand. I feel as if I am losing a good friend. I know it is just a building, but that's the way that I feel. I hope I get to make some nice memories at Citi Field, but the fact of the matter is it will never house the history or displace my childhood memories of Shea... Time to embrace the change... It may take a few ...

I'm a bit distracted today because my clients are such interesting and downright fascinating people. I've never had a buyer sign a contract with a mortgage in place, then kick the mortgage to the curb to get a new one weeks before closing. Makes me nervous... I'm sure I'll get over it. I tend to get over a lot of things especially if I have no choice in the matter (LOL). I think if I could improve my interest rate I might gamble and go for it too... but what do I know... after all, this is new...  I've no idea if doing this is a good or bad idea. I guess it depends upon the circumstances. What say you? BTW, the Minion Blur has a little girlfriend. Oooo - how very sweet... she's a pretty cute kid, a bit high pitched and wordy too. He actually dances for her since he's speech delayed and ...

The Outside Blog Minion Report: Shea Stadium / Citi Field Carolyn Tann-Starr http://www.TannStarr.com 44 years... I am 43 years old and all I can think about is the fact that for my entire life Shea Stadium was a place of fond memories and spectacular moments. My family loves baseball. Did you know that I was listening to soap operas and ballgames in the womb? Yup. 'Tis true. Oh my word, the interesting things I could tell you about my childhood influences (LMAO - but I digress...). I shall save that for a Susan Mangigian Wordy C moment. After all, I do have a 57 Fact Mega-Meme in the works... among other things. ;-) I will say that they didn't call me "Mouth" for nothing. Who knew I'd grow up to be a blogger. Betcha' didn't see that one coming, eh? I surely didn't... :-) Rumor has it ...

VideoAd by Mixpo The interesting thing about handing a camera to a 6 year old is seeing what your child sees. I picked a large target for him to practice with on purpose. Noah did a pretty good job. He enjoyed aiming out of the car window and capturing life on a drive by. Tomorrow we're going to visit the park and give him a serious challenge. Trying to keep Stephen the Minion Blur in range of the auto-focus. Noah prefers hand held, but I hope to eventually have him migrate to the tripod. Citi Field should be opening sometime this year. It will be interesting to see if the workers will have Shea Stadium dismantled for April 2009. Here is a little Shea Stadium demolition update through the eyes of a child. We will be back later on to keep you updated on their progress. Tomorrow's video...

There were not many people participated in the event at Queens Crossing in the chilly new year's eve. There were no free coffee nor concert as announcement. I was expecting at least few hundred people, but it was so quiet. Wish the economy, the real estate market, the financial market will recover soon! "Year's end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instill in us." - Hal Borland. "Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right." - Oprah Wintrey.

This photo was taken in the College Point store. May be people rushing to shopping for Christmas gift in the last weekend. May be it was the weather. May be people just cutting more spending. No matter what the reason is, their earning will be hurt with this scene. I am afraid their stock price will go below the 50-days moving average and hit 52-weeks low. Until then the stock market will go further down, so as the real estate market. We are in a recession, we are in a bear market. No company will immune from it. Right now stock price of companies such as Wal-mart, BJ, Verizon are still showing strong trend. I think that is the last phrase before market hitting bottom when people finally cutting the basic needs. Same as real estate market, co-op which is the most affordable compare to ...

VideoAd by Mixpo The Little Minions got to play in the snow today. I also took them on two tours of homes because I am working on two Comparative Market Analysis; one for Flushing and the other for Jamaica, NY. We had a blast building snowmen and having snowball fights. Stephen got to pretend-drive his fave wooden car and Noah demolished his snowman creation with some of the kids in the backyard of our apartment building. We stopped by our new construction to make sure the pipes were okay because at one point the temperature fell down to 32 degrees. I have to hold an RSVP Open House over there on Sunday, December 21, 2008 from 11:30 - 12:30. I'm looking forward to it. For more information please visit http://www.TannStarr.com. Flushing Meadows Park, Queens County, New York City I love being a Work-At-Home-Mom (WHAM). I love being an artist. I have such a thing for eye candy and am always looking for something beautiful to enjoy. I don't know about you, but I am definitely a Spring-Fall baby. There is something about those vibrant colors that just gets my brain rolling in high gear and makes me want to whip out my oil paints and create a new work of art... I am on a very interesting team that is judging an art contest between Realtors. I've enjoyed some fascinating e-mails from across the country. Truth be told, it's actually an International Competition because the Canadians have come out to play and we have a wonderful judge named Poppy Dinsey from London, UK. It's a Club Chaos Photography and Video competi...

"If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one." Mother Teresa Elizabeth Nieves, the founder of Activist Rain selected that quote as part of her group's description. It is about "one thing... and one thing only: recognizing that ONE PERSON can change the world one simple act of kindness of and love at a time." Jason Crouch introduced me to Elizabeth's blog. Paddy Pizappi invited me to join her group. After reading the posts published there I found myself wondering what act of kindness I was going to perform today. When you are being spontaneous it is so easy to be kind, but when you are determined to change something for the good of someone else, being deliberate and calculating in your actions to maximize your effectiveness is a whole other ballgame... Today's Flushing turtle ...

Citi Field and Shea Stadium have a statistical comparison chart that you can read here at the New York Mets official website. Citi Field is due to open in April of 2009 and I am very excited about that because we are going to bring the boys to a family day event. How would you like to see a time lapse video recording of the construction over a period of months? It's a very cool little video but a bit slow so please have some patience while you are waiting for it to load. You can watch the video clip here. Here is a little eye candy from my turtle run this morning. It was fun hanging out with the hard hats. I'll be back next month to update you on their progress with more photographs. Enjoy!

Shea Stadium, Flushing Meadows Park, Queens County, New York I finally made it to the hard hats after being delayed on the Grand Central Parkway due to a car accident. I only got to spend an hour with the guys and stayed well away from the moving vehicles. I'm working on a Club Chaos Eye Candy feature but am having a difficult time selecting the final photographs. I took a lot of shots and am very pleased to report that the crews have made significant progress since my last visit back in July. I am so looking forward to sharing my photographs with you. Stay tuned for new shots of the Citi Field construction site. The new stadium has some very nice features. I should have them posted sometime early this evening. I'm off to pick up Noah from school. Here's a sneak preview of what's to co...

Igor is a brilliant mad scientist in training with one dilemma. He was born with a hunchback, and in the country of Malaria, being born with a hunchback means changing your name to Igor and slaving  for a mad scientist. Everyone living in the imaginary country of Malaria aims to be an evil mastermind. Each year, the king picks one diabolical man-made contraption and uses it to blackmail the whole world. After Igor's master becomes a casualty to one of his own devices, Igor covers up his death and sets about inventing a monster in his late master's name. Assisting him are two clumsy inventions of his: the Brain, a disembodied, not overly bright brain suspended in a jar, and Scamper, an quick-tempered cat (or was he a rabbit?) with unwanted immortality.  Like Remy in Ratatouille, Igor is ...

The plot is full of fun events - David Rice discovers that he can teleport while in high school, and uses this "new powers" to get away from his home town as fast as he can. Several years later, he's living in an NYC penthouse, bankrolled by "jumping" past a bank's security system and taking (or should I say stealing) the loot in the vault. The setup of this flick was about as cool as you can get. Despite a super-illogical premise, the movie really sold me on how the whole thing worked within the first 20 minutes, and it didn't take long for me to take pleasure in the good times on top of the Sphinx together with David and his yummy-looking girlfriend. In fact, I enjoyed a lot about the film including the cutesy romance amid the two leads, the many "jumps" and globetrotting situations, ...
