BLM - Bureau of Land Management Find Carson City Homes adjoining BLM Land BLM Land is owned by the US Government.  There is a great deal of federally owned land in the state of Nevada and many people like to have a home that either adjoins the BLM land or is very near. While this land can be sold and developed (and sometime is), the land is generally open to the public without any trespassing or use (reasonable use) restrictions.  As a result, this land makes for great recreation areas for RV or motorcycle riding, horse riding, or shooting.  (Yes, shooting is popular in Nevada!).
