The Greenside Cafe is my favorite new place to hang out at when I'm in between appointments showing Albuquerque East Mountain Real Estate. The Greenside Cafe isn't new, it's been open for awhile, but it wasn't until recently that I actually stopped in. The cafe is located right by the Triangle grocery on the Turqoise Trail National Scenic Byway in Cedar Crest NM. That's also known as NM HWY 14.   In case you don't know, Cedar Crest is on the East side of the Sandias where the scenery is a little greener. Hence the name "Greenside" Cafe.   There's a nice outdoor patio where you can sit and enjoy the green views and enjoy the weather. It's almost always a little cooler up here in on the green side.   Or perhaps you prefer to sit inside. It's nice in there too.    Inside is pretty cool too...

I'm really excited about my new Albuquerque Metro Real Estate website. Of course you can search for homes in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho on my site, but you can also search for Sandia Park NM Homes for Sale, Tijeras NM Homes for Sale and and Cedar Crest NM Homes for Sale too. Those are some of my favorite metro Albuquerque places to show and sell homes. Living in the East Mountains is totally different from living in Albuquerque. There is such a great contrast in terrain and climate that home buyers who have not seen homes in the east mountains are shocked when they take the relatively short drive to the other side of the Sandias to look at homes. The drive into Albuquerque only takes twenty or thirty minutes depending where you are going. Do you like mountains, hiking, wooded lots? The ...

La Entrada RealtyGateway to Cedar Crest Real Estate and the magnificent Southwest!Cedar Crest and Sandia Park Real Estate: Cedar Crest real estate has a very special appeal to the more mountain type folks who like country, trees, snow and generally more moisture and a more verdant landscape. Being on the leeward side of the Sandias it generally benefits from more precipitation, and consequently, more vegetation. An altitude in access of 7,000 feet ASL hosts an environment friendly to conifers, oak, and wildflowers, and wildlife typical of a mountain environment. This area is also generally cooler year round than is Albuquerque and other lower climes further east on I40 (old Route 66). Cedar Crest real estate resembles more of an Alpine community than the pueblo styles of Albuquerque an...

The Sandia Mountains sit at the Eastern edge of the Albuquerque metro area... and going East on I-40 "through the canyon" you'll find many neighborhoods, homes, and Real Estate we collectively refer to as "The East Mountains". This area is made up of various communities including Cedar Crest, Tijeras, and Sandia Park. The main road that travels north through this area and beyond to Santa Fe is The Turquoise Trail Scenic Byway. If you take this route from Albuquerque, it will take about 15-30 minutes longer than taking I-25, but is well worth it for the views, beautiful Real Estate, and the great little towns to visit along the way. Make plans to have lunch in Madrid (about 1/2 way there). It's an old mining town that now has many fun shops and great galleries.OK, Back to the East Mountai...

Cedar Crest and  its neighboring communities of Tijeras, Sandia Park, and Edgewood together make up what is known as the "East Mountain Area" outside of Albuquerque. Cedar Crest is a great location for those wanting a rural environment within easy commuting distance of Albuquerque, and homes in the area range from aged, rustic mountain cabins to elegant executive residences in new, planned developments. Lot sizes vary from under an acre to ten acres or more, yet most are within half an hour commute to the Albuquerque airport. Residents enjoy being nestled among the pine trees, with forever views out their windows. Land ranges from steeply sloped areas thick with Ponderosa pines through areas covered in pinon and juniper, to nearly flat meadow, and all can occasionally be snow-covered in...
