I am a big believer in open houses.  I get a chance to meet potential clients each time I set up.  Open houses are a big part of my listing presentation as well.  I promise my sellers that I or another agent from my office will sit their home atleast twice a month.  Sellers in Wildwood like this. During the summer months, you are guaranteed to have people who are strolling down the street stop in and have a look around.  Even off season, weekends tend to bring people back down the shore and there is rarely a time when you sit by yourself in an open house - until recently that is.  My last two weekends have been empty.  Not one person stopped in to see the unit.  I had myself in a busy area -  had plenty of signs out to direct traffic- had a beautiful sunny day - and nothing.  This is so...

I have noticed that there are about 24 agents on AR who practice in Cape May County.  I think it would be great if we could build an active blogging community on AR.  I love Broker Bryant and have learned so much about the crazy world of real estate from AR.  Our market is unique and doesn't always fit the mold and our blogs could reflect that.  So if you are out there and want to share ideas, let's get together.

I haven't seen much posted about the area where I practice, so I thought I would send a shout out to the extreme South Jersey area.  I feel as if I have been on a roller coaster ride for 2006.  I got into the business when agents on the island were busy preparing for another jam packed spring.  They were getting ready for the buyers to come back and the offers to come in.  But, like most areas across the country, things didn't go as planned and sellers began to panic.  The summer came and went with little activity and agents and owners were left with only a hope that things would get better.  I feel as if now more than ever real estate agents should be the light at the end of the tunnel.  Instead of focusing on the negative, use this time to get back to the basics and work on building r...
