The Township of River Vale is offering programs to help reduce property taxes.The first, and most popular, is the Homestead Rebate. This program is run through the state and is available to both homeowners and renters who occupied their principal residence in New Jersey on Oct. 1, paid property taxes on that dwelling either directly or through rent, and whose gross income for the year does not exceed certain limits.                                                      Sunday Open Houses in the Pascack ValleyIn what has been perceived by many as a down market, I held an Open House on one of my listings.  I decided to try an experiment, and not put out any Open House signs, except for the sign directly in front of the home.  In fact, the homeowner realized this after having left the home, and called me to ask if I had forgotten to place any signs.  I responded by telling her that I wanted to see how many buyers would come from my internet ads and ads in the local newspapers.Interestlngly, we had 10 groups of visitors to my open house, quite an excellent number for what is perceived as a slow market.  We definitely had interest from some potential buyers, and I was pleasantly surprised by the response... 09/17/2007
