Rio Grande is not the most appropriately named town you will ever visit.  Rio Grande, meaning "Big River", is actually devoid of such.  However, this town located in Middle Township has undergone the most significant face-lift of all the Cape May County towns over the last 2 years.  Rio Grande is rapidly becoming a regional retail center for Cape May County.  For a long time, it appeared as if that distinction would have gone to Cape May Court House, which is the County Seat.  It is Rio Grande that has risen up to make that claim.The major intersection of Routes 9 and 47 has given way to becoming the gateway for national retailers based out of multiple Power Centers in that area.   This has been met with acceptance by tourists and locals who previously had to drive about 45 miles in ord... 03/14/2007
