Have you ever wondered where integrity and service in the marketplace has gone.  When dealing with business and government agencies there seems to be an attitude of indifference and intolerance by employees in epidemic proportion.  Employees seem to hate their jobs, their employers, and even their customers.  Conversations in restaurants, around the water cooler, and social engagements stem around complaining about everything.  Are people that unhappy, if so they should stop, take inventory, and make the necessary changes.I have been investing in real estate for over 30 years, and I consider it our passion.  My wife and I enjoy purchasing a home, remodeling it and taking pride in our accomplishments.  As a Sales Associate with Weidel Realtors, this passion is also felt by me when I find...

How long does it take to sell my house? Is the real estate market going to get much worth in the new 2008? Home buyers and sellers in Pennington New Jersey continue to ask these questions heading into the spring market.I don’t believe that national “Prophets”  know exactly what will happen in each local real estate market. General economic indicators are that the markets will not get much better in terms of home sales prices. Instead of predicting the future we can look at the historic data. One indicator of the real estate market is how long does it take to sell a house, or what is called in the real estate speak “Days on the market” or DOM. The chart examines the DOM for five towns Montgomery Township, Hopewell, Pennington, West Windsor, and Princeton from 2004 to 2007.  The main poin...

Shown from left are: Vito Casano; Vito's employee Pasquale DeStasio; Councilman Weed Tucker; Mayor Tony Persichilli; Nat Casano, Vito's father and owner of Vito's Pizza; County Executive Brian Hughes with son Sullivan Hughes; Councilman Robert Di Falco. Moved from 4 N. Main to 2 N. Main, Pennington    Downtown Pennington without the old Vito's Pizza?   For a long time, that's been pretty hard to imagine. Vito's set up shop at 4 N. Main St. in the late 1980s and literally since its first day of operation has been one of the most briskly patronized businesses in the Hopewell Valley area.   More than an eatery, it's been a gathering place for people of all ages.   Typical sights at Vito's - A table surrounded by grade-school-age children in soccer uniforms eating pizza, next to a table wit...

Pennington Borough Council approved the following resolutions at its regular meeting Monday night.    · A resolution ratifying the agreement between the borough and Formosa of Hopewell, Inc. ensures that Formosa enlarges the external grease interceptor system at 12 S. Main St. in order to provide sufficient capacity for its two restaurants, Sumo Sushi and Gelato, at the location. The work is to be completed in 60 days, or by Sept. 10.    · A resolution authorizing a payment of $1,765 to Patterson Chevrolet, Inc. for an additional furnishing to a four-wheel drive pickup truck. Pennington Residents to Face Water and Sewer Rate Hike  On May 7, the Pennington Borough Council unanimously approved a 13 percent water and sewer rate hike. Under the new ordinance, residents' average quarterly water and sewer bill will go up an estimated $10 to $235. According to township officials, there was an 8 percent rate increase last year and 24 percent in 2005. There were no increases for five years prior to that.Council argued that several factors drove the need for the 13 percent increase, especially the 6.5 percent increase in water and sewer utility operation costs last year. In addition, a dramatic decline in water and sewer connection fees is expected this year and the borough's water and sewer budget will finish paying off the debt service on the nearly completed new bo...

Stony Brook Watershed Included in the State's Water Quality and Purification Plan   On April 22, New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Lisa Jackson introduced a new state plan to improve water quality by preventing runoff from construction. The proposed rules would affect the Stony Brook watershed, as well as 15 other waterways and reservoirs across the state, by blocking sewers and development from nearby streams. The Stony Brook runs through Hopewell, as well as parts of Pennington and the Princetons. The proposed rules would require that water-quality plans include reductions in pollutions to offset any added construction within 300 feet of the protected streams. In addition, municipalities and counties would be required to update their plans for wastewater...
