Keep in mind not all clients may issue 1099s, and the ones that do could report inaccurate or incomplete figures, and by adding it up on your own you will be able to catch these problems early, while replacement forms can still be issued. When a tax return is filed either by the taxpayer or the IRS on their behalf, tax is assessed. Then IRS billing notices or demand for payment begins.When a taxpayer ignores the billing notices, IRS filed a silence tax lien against the taxpayer’s asset(s). Still at this point most taxpayers do not understand that the IRS collection have started. The auditor will send you letter stating they will be examining your tax return and give you a list of documents they want to see.
