  Make this a Warmer Winter for Neighbors in Need!!     The goal of the 16th Annual Jersey Cares Coat Drive is to collect and distribute 50,000 “gently used” winter coats to at-risk men, women, children and infants.  Over the past fifteen years, Jersey Cares has collected, sorted and distributed thousands of winter coats to New Jersey residents in need through this program.     Companies, churches, police stations, schools and other organizations collect coats throughout the drive.  Volunteers then sort the donated coats and bag them for pick-up.     MANALAPAN LEAF RECYCLING Leaf Collection - Pursuant to Township ordinance #198-18 – 198-23, all leaves must be placed in biodegradable paper bags.  Leaves placed in plastic bags will not be picked up from curb area or accepted at the Public Works yard. Leaf collection this fall will be on every Monday in November and December.    These bags can be purchased at the Public Works Department on Mondays – Fridays from  9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  The bags are sold in bundles of 5 for a cost of $2.00.  You can also purchase these bags from local retailers. "Let's Talk Manalapan NJ!" The Manalapan Township Department of Public Works is continuing with their expanded leaf collection this autumn. Leaves will be collected on November 7, 14, 21, 28 and December 5, 12, 19, and 27. All leaves must be placed in biodegradable bags and placed at the curb (not on the street) on the first day of each collection to make sure that the bags get picked up. Twigs, grass, brush, weeds or other debris should not be placed in the biodegradable bags. Any bags with that material inside will not be picked up.
