You know I was trying to lay low this week and not do much, I ended up doing two deals anyway.  When I want to 'lay low' I stop posting ads on Craigslist, I post over 200-300 times per day usually, so I do have a good presence on there regardless if I post or not.  When I stop posting, my leads don't come in as rapidly, but they still do come in.  In fact I find that te leads that come in are more qualified since these people are either really serious about their search since they have found me on the 10th page or whatever far off page I am on. Things are moving right along in our little office, over this past week there has been a lot of tension in the office as we have been going through some growing pains.  It's both interesting and disturbing at the same time.  I am forced to think about reasons why I am at DBB, both positively and negatively.  Does that make any sense? November and December are traditionally a slow month, as this month has proven--even I have only done about 5 deals thus far, which is pretty bad for me! Today I met several really nice couples, one was looking for for a 3 bedroom, two bathroom place at Liberty Harbor in Jersey City.  I showed them a couple of places at 9 Regent St Jersey City, NJ 07302 and 30 Regent St Jersey City, NJ 07302, and wouldn't you know it, the one that I thought they would like the least is the one that they like the BEST!  The one 'issue' is that they would like french doors placed into the apartment they like.  The french doors actually would open up the space on th first floor to be an actual living room.  We put it out to the management, maybe we'll get them to do it. I get asked these questions all the time, as I am sure many of us do, I just thought I would re-post it as I think these things are very important and we could potentially lose our license if we did answer these questions. A good real estate agent is very familiar with the neighborhoods where he or she shows properties. But because of legislation called the Fair Housing Act, the agent can't legally share all of that information with you. Why the restrictions? The government wants to make sure that home purchase decisions are based on a property's fair market value and not factors such as race, religion or ethnicity. There are a lot of changes going on at DBB Realty, some pleasant and some not so pleasant.  The broker's are really trying to motivate us, positively and to some negatively.  Irregardless, we do have a TON of vacanies at Liberty Harbor over at 30 Regent St Jersey City, NJ 07302 and 9 Regent St Jersey City, NJ 07302. Busy day today, I am showing 349 Second St Jersey City, NJ 07302 again today.  I showed some people it yesterday night, now they are bringing their sister, so hopefully it's a go.  I had another client for that space but the credit was bad, we're still trying to put the deal together, unfortunately at this point I think the deal may be dead.  The funny thing is that as tough as the credit was she WAS NOT declined, they asked her to pay the last four months of the rent in advance. She wanted a ONE BEDROOM downtown, on the water for $1500 per month, ok, so after I talked her off the ledge I explained that there was no building on the water with a one bedroom for $1500.  So we looked at an apartment at 9 Regent St Jersey City, NJ 07302.  Nice duplex one bedroom for $1900, then there was another duplex for $1875 on the corner with all windows as the side wall.
