If you live in or travel through Clark, you may find getting around to be a bit more hectic next week.  Conrail has announced that they will be doing construction on the Railroad Crossing on Westfield Avenue beginning on Monday, May 8th.  The construction will completely close Westfield Avenue between Terminal Avenue and Lamberts Mill Road.  Fortunately, the construction will only last through Thursday the 11th and then that section of the road will re-open.  "The railroad crossing will be closed Monday through Thursday of next week, 24 hours a day," according to Clark Chief of Police Pedro Matos. "That's a complete road closure at that point."Make sure to plan an alternate route to avoid the construction.

The children of homeowners are more likely to stay in school and have higher levels of academic achievement than the children of renters. Owning a home provides family stability. As area experts, we can tell you that the Clark Real Estate Market was simply outstanding in 2016. So, how does 2016 compare to the previous several years? Firstly, inventory is down. This is an excellent indicator of a seller's market.   In 2013, the average inventory was 91 homes. However, in 2016, the average inventory 76 homes. This is an excellent indicator of a seller's market.  Overall, sales are up. In 2013, 130 single family homes were sold, compared to 167 homes sold in 2016. Lower inventory leads to increased demand, this tends to drive prices up. As A and B above show, prices are up!  The average sale price of a home in Clark in 2013 was sold for $360,138.   In 2016 the average sale price was up by 20% at $433,397. The Active Days on Market is down, another good indicator. ...

In 1966 the Clark Public Library moved from a storefront in a strip mall to the building on Westfield Avenue where it now resides.  The current building has changed having a major addition several years ago.  But on Friday, November 18th the Library will formally celebrate 50 years in the same location. The 21 and over only event runs from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.  Wine and cheese will be served.  The event will be themed around 1966.  There will be "groovy" music, a 50/50 and lots of interesting things from 1966 on display. There will be flash cubes (you're dating yourself if you know what those are), typewriters, rotary phones and many other things on display that were high tech for the time but are now obsolete.  This is a great event to come out, see the library and have a great time.  Admis...
