Sutton Woods Condos are HOT and selling at a rapid pace this Summer!        Since June 1, 4 condos in coveted Sutton Woods Condos in Chatham Township have closed.  That's a great pace of sales and one that bucks the national trend of slowing sales.      Further, 3 more Sutton Woods condos are under contract to sell.  All are anticipated to close around the middle of September.     Historically, about a dozen Sutton Woods condos would sell every year.  It seems that these super-nice, affordable condos in one of the best towns in NJ (according to NJ Monthly Magazine) are one of the best investments out there, holding value better than most other real estate in New Jersey and elsewhere. Our website, SuttonWoodsChatham.com has floor plans, community information and photos to help you get ac...

Finding a condo or townhouse in Chatham NJ could be a challenging task, without reliable information.  But, no worries, this post will attempt to give you an overview - as seen from a Chatham resident and 15+ years of experience in real estate, home and condo sales in the Chatham area. First, there are two Chathams:  Chatham Boro and Chatham Twp.  The Boro is the "village" with the NJ Transit Midtown Direct Train Station.  The Township is the "half-moon" around the Boro and features larger homes and properties than the Boro.  It is closer to the Summit NJ Transit Midtown Direct train station, which has non-resident parking available for those in the Township that need it. In Chatham Boro there are not many condos and townhouses, but perhaps more variety.  The condos at Chatham Court are...

The Manor Section in Chatham Borough, NJ - recent real estate sales activity One of my favorite neighborhoods ... close to train, town, library, houses of worship.  Exudes charm and friendliness.  Neat yards, towering trees, colorful and abundant flowers adorn the traditional colonial style houses. A very desirable area that offers homes for both first-time buyers as well as larger homes for the move-up buyer.  Homes in the Manor Section always sell well and seldom is there more than a handful of homes for sale in this popular Chatham Boro neighborhood.  There are currently 3 homes for sale in The Manor Section ranging in price from $597,000 to $875,000 and one home is under contract, with its listing price of $929,000. Since January 1, 2010, 16 homes in the Manor Section of Chatham Bor...

Chatham, New Jersey - Two of the most charming, desirable towns to own a home, condo or townhouse, live and raise a family.   There are two Chathams  - the Borough and the Township.  Chatham Boro was settled in the early 18th Century and is a small residential community with a small town flavor.  Chatham's active town center includes charming shops, casual eateries and award-winning restaurants as well as a public library, several service establishments, parks and tennis courts.   Chatham Township offers spacious country and suburban living with most homes and property built after World War II.  There are many luxury homes for sale and new construction listings in Chatham Twp.  Chatham Twp was named by Money Magazine in 2005 as the 9th Best Town to live in the US.  NJ Monthly ranked it ...

New construction homes for sale in Chatham NJ There's nothing like a brand-new home.  Since Chatham has been settled since colonial times, the homes in our beautiful communities are usually not new.  There is practically not one empty lot to be found in all our town, but where there is a will there is a way ... older homes on great properties (usually the homes that are really run-down) are torn down to make room for new homes.     These new homes offer every amenity and luxury that money can buy.  They range from a minimum of 3,000 sq ft to more than 5,000 sq ft.  Most bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms and walk-in closets.  Deluxe kitchens and media rooms, luxurious master suites and in-floor heat,  and much, much more. Currently there are 9 new homes available for sale in Chatham Boro a...

Homes of the Highlands Neighborhood in Chatham Township, NJ The Highlands of Chatham Township sits high on a knoll over Chatham and the Great Swamp with lots of open space and privacy. Chatham Township is one of the best places to live in New Jersey, according to its residents and NJ Monthly Magazine. Chatham Township was rated #2 place to live by NJ Monthly in 2010 and #9 in the country by Money Magazine in 2005! The homes in the Highlands of Chatham Township are some of the loveliest in the area. There are many gracious colonials on large lots of about ½ acre.  Most of these homes were built in the 1970’s with welcoming foyers, spacious kitchens, living, dining and family rooms on the main level and usually 4-5 bedrooms on the second floor. Homes for sale and sold in Chatham's Prestigious Washington Neighborhood One of the prettiest neighborhoods in the pretty town of Chatham Borough, NJ is the Washington Section. I like to walk the streets here and admire the beautiful homes and landscapes. It is peaceful and quiet, I only occasionally meet another walker - sometimes with a dog. Not much traffic, I walk on the street - no sidewalks either. Located in the veritable heart of Chatham Borough, this neighborhood enjoys very close proximity to the NJ Transit Midtown Direct train, the small but bustling village center, and, best of all, very close proximity to highly acclaimed Washington Elementary School as well as Chatham High School. The streets that make up the Washington Section Neighborhood are: Washington Avenue, Amherst ...

Every year New Jersey Monthly Magazine devotes an issue to the top towns to live in NJ.  Every year Chatham Township comes in at the top or close to the top of the list, this year coming in at number 2.  Whether you agree with the list or not, for people buying or selling this list is an important tool.  It's all about perception and people perceive the towns that make this list to be the most desirable towns to live in.  Thus the list can only help property values!  This is a great honor for Chatham Township and all the other towns that made the list.    See the entire list at http://njmonthly.com/articles/towns_and_schools/best-places-to-live-2010.html   How does your town rank?   Robert Snyder Mortgage Advisor Jacob Dean MortgageCell: 973.495.8925 Fax: 973.966.1063 Bob@bobthebroker.n...
