Sutton Woods Chatham NJ - Hurricane Sandy Report Hurricane Sandy has been devastating for the NY Tri-State area but we have been very fortunate at Sutton Woods in Chatham NJ to have had gotten through this terrible event with little damage. We were without electricity for 10 days.  That means no heat, hot water, or TV.  It was a bit isolating and certainly very quiet.  A few trees are down but travel throughout Sutton Woods is a breeze, not like the rest of town or even nearby towns where trees are lying in streets and yards all over the place.  All in all, we were very lucky at Sutton Woods. Real Estate Market Update for The Chathams, NJ - November 2, 2012 Real estate sales have been steadily improving - although only by smidgeons - in New Jersey.  Chatham Boro currently has only 40 homes for sale, which if you consider that 71 homes have sold so far this year, it is only a little bit more than a 6 month supply. Things to do in and around Chatham NJ One of my favorite things about Chatham NJ is how much there is to do and how close it is to so many wonderful events and venues!  Many events and venues take place right here in Chatham NJ or in neighboring towns like Summit NJ, Millburn NJ, Madison NJ and Morristown NJ.  Others take place still near enough for day trips! Last week my husband and I took two trains right to Forest Hills NY to attend the US Open Tennis.   We took NJ Transit from Summit in to Penn Station where we then got on the LIRR for 2 stops.  Less than an hour from home, we were walking into the US Open grounds to enjoy a wonderful day of world-class tennis!  It was a beautiful, sunny, dry day and the ride was easy and uneventful.     What a beautiful thing ... an hour from our ... 09/05/2011

Chatham Farmers Market Baking Contest 2011 One of my favorite things to do is to volunteer at the Chatham NJ Farmers Market.  It's a great way to be outside, meet people, see friends, shop for fresh, local food and give back to my community!  Today at the Chatham Farmers Market there was a baking contest.  I am grateful I was not a judge because everything was so very delicious that I would have had a very difficult time choosing any one of the 7 contestants as the first, second or third!  In my opinion, ALL entries were delicious, beautifully presented and fresh! Chatham Farmers Market Chatham NJ has one of the best farmers' markets around.  Ok, I may be prejudiced but since I'm from Chatham, I believe I'm allowed!
