Huggins Hospital is ready to move forward with its plan for expansion next spring. All the previous issues with abutters have finally been resolved.  The new building will save enough money to cover the deficits that have been occurring plus increase its revenues. Dave Tower said in a recent interview with the Baysider that "If all works as it should and our planned capital campaign meets its objectives, the community that owns this hospital will end up with a $52 million facility for $19 million in debt." Gilbane Building Company out of Providence, R.I., who also has an office in Manchester, NH, will oversee the project.  Previous projects that Gilbane has been involved in include Concord and Mercy Hospitals. The construction should take about 30 months to complete and will be started ...

Winnipesaukee Estates is a beautiful Subdivision on the south side of Wolfeboro that many people have most likely driven by on their way to town, not even realizing it was there.  The design was for a total of 46 lots ranging from 1.4 to 8.6 acres in size offering privacy and community as well.  17 lots are now occupied by homeowners who are enjoying what this fantastic community has to offer.  The psychology of buyers seems to be to want what others want and stay away from what others have left.  The problem in this case is that this established neighborhood was developed a couple decades ago when properties were at a stand-still and now people are wondering why there are still available lots and what is wrong with the subdivision.  The answer.....absolutely nothing.....in fact, everyt...

Wolfeboro, New Hampshire              Wolfeboro was first granted in 1759 to four young men of Portsmouth, and named Wolfeboro in honor of General James Wolfe, who had been victorious at Quebec in 1759. In 1763, 2,300 acres were added to the 60 acres reserved for the governor. Governor John Wentworth established an estate on the site, known as Kingswood.             Wolfeboro has the distinction of being known as "The Oldest Summer Resort in America." He came to his "mansion" during the summer and was followed by others who discovered the quiet and charm of the area. This was the first summer country estate in northern New England. "...Wolfebo...

Formation of Lake Winnipesaukee Formation of Lake Winnipesaukee Surficial and Bedrock Geology studies of New Hampshire indicate that prior to the Ice Age there was no lake here as know it today. Studies of the hillsides, streams, melt water channels; intervales, and varved deposits prelude the possibility of any glacial dams or deep water such as Lake Hitchcock that once filled the C...
