Okay, I admit it, I'm not very green at this point - or I should say, I'm VERY green at being green.  BUT I've learned an awful lot reading all the really cool posts in this ECO-friendly and Green Group.  And I've found that there really are things I can do that are little by little making my world and my life a tad bit greener along the way.I loved Liz Foley's winning post last year - "Kermit Had it Right - It ISN'T Easy Being Green!"  And I learned a few things from her post as well.  I just went back and re-read it again, probably for the 10th time because I really enjoyed not only the content but her sense of humor as well.  If you missed it during the last contest, take a look at it now - it's worth a read!Anyway, back to me being a tiny bit green here in my world in Portsmouth New...

Are you a homeowner in the Portsmouth NH Seacoast real estate market?  Are you thinking about selling your home or condo?  If you are, I would encourage you to have home inspections done before putting your home on the market. Why?  There are a number of good reasons to do so!  The first, and the most important ,reason is so you can know in advance what inspectors will be finding and telling your potential buyers.  Forewarned is forearmed, and in this case, that's a GREAT thing!  There is no perfect house, not even new construction, so just know right up front that a home inspector is going to find something, and most likely several somethings at the very least.Knowing about problems before putting Portsmouth homes and condos on the market for sale, provides you the opportunity to addres...

The rewards that most people think of when selling real estate  are the paychecks we receive when we have a successful closing.  What many who aren't in the real estate profession don't realize is that there are some wonderful intangible rewards we reap as well.  There are all the wonderful friendships that are made, the great joy of finding that perfect home for people, the sense of pride in helping first-time buyers into their first home that they may have thought to be unattainable, and so much else that just can't be measured in dollars and cents.A while back, I worked with a wonderful young couple who got engaged while we were looking for their first home.  They were sharp, on the ball, smart, and both have a fabulous sense of humor.  We met at one of my listings that they'd found ...

Portsmouth New Hampshire Homes Are you a Portsmouth NH homeowner thinking about selling in today's market?Make no mistake about it, we're in a challenging market, and it takes far more effort today to get a home or condo sold.  It's tough in this market - make sure you're ready!  We live in the age of the Internet, and proof of that is in the fact that roughly 85% of buyers today begin their search on-line.  EIGHTY-FIVE percent - that's a HUGE change from just a few short years ago.  That fact alone demands a completely different method for sellers and their agents. If you're already on the market for sale, no doubt you're already experiencing some of the challenges today, including finding the magic price to cause your house to actually sell.  The biggest mistake sellers are making in t...

Better here than in other parts of the country is the answer! Again we have the news that all real estate is local - there is no "National Market". We don't have a National Weather Report because we know that weather is a very local occurrence. Well, we know the same about real estate. All markets are local and there are micro-markets within each town based on the neighborhood. The first thing most of us learn in real estate is "Location, Location, Location"! The Seacoast of New Hampshire is a great location to live and it is showing in the stability of our market. The Seacoast Board of Realtors just hosted its third "State of the Seacoast Housing Market" address to Realtors and the media. This session the panel was made up of Jim Lyons, President New Hampshire Board of Realtors; John Ri...
