Kingston NH Real Estate Report August 2010 We are looking at homes sold data for the last four years verses the last twelve months to determine the state of the real estate market in Kingston, NH.  There were 71 homes sold in 2006 and those homes spent an average of 98 days on the market.  2007 saw a recession looming and 72 homes were sold but spent 11 more days on market at 109.  With the recession fully entrenched in 2008, 11 less homes sold at 61 and days on market extended an extra month to 139 days.  While the Federa Home Buyer Tax Credit was established to prop up a sagging national market in 2009, 66 homes sold and days on market eased down to 114.  In the last twelve months we have seen 67 homes sold averaging 116 days on market. I decided to film a little bit of Sunset Lake aka Washpond in Hampstead NH. I used my Kodak z18 for the first past of the video clip and then used my old Canon SD870  point & shoot when we turned around and drove from the opposite direction.  I think you can clearly see the difference in the quality of the video. I had the camera mounted on my dashboard using the Panavise mount I bought and really like how steady it held my camera. The road was full of frost heaves and the ride bumpy. I was pretty unhappy when I found out that The Pond View restaurant in Kingston New Hampshire had closed. I used to like going there, not so much for the food but for the ambiance. The table settings, where everything was different and unmatched yet somehow all belonged together was a treat to see. The Gazebo overlooking the pond and the lounge that was like taking a trip through Movie land. I was sad to see the place change and eventually go out of business, not to mention that last Christmas someone there sold my son a gift certificate. One that he gave to Jay and me for our Christmas gift…only to end up being no good. I figured they must have needed the money as they surely had to know they would be closing soon.  Yesterday was a busy real estate day for us in NH. Kingston is one famous little New Hampshire town covering 20.88 square miles.   Kingston was incorporated in 1694 after King William’s War. Kingston was established as a town in 1694 when it separated from the town of Hampton.
