Yesterday I decided to blog about electric heat because of the fallacies that people have about electricity as a heat source here in New Hampshire. A blogger made a good point - fossil fuels in NH use to be far less expensive than electricity.  However, that is no longer the case with the price of oil consistently on the rise. While blogging about geothermal, wind turbine, and electricity it occurred to me there must be a comprehensive "energy" site that can assist consumers with determining the best option. With housing prices and down and new construction costs up (due to lumber and transportation costs) it seems almost impossible for a builder to be able to find land in Hollis or Southern New Hampshire and build a "competitive" house in order to compete with "existing construction" price per square foot sales. As a Southern New Hampshire Real Estate Agent active in social media it is unclear as to what the business result will be from "blogging" and other social arenas.  It has been approximately 3 months that I have been active with various accounts in order to gain real estate exposure in my marketplace (Hollis and Nashua, in particular), however, my problem is vendors! Since I set up my accounts, I get no less than 2 solicitations a day to buy a web plug-in product, and idx product, SEO solution, brand new website, you name it... very distracting. You can get a free blog almost anywhere on the net but how about free blogging from email! If you send an email to post@posterous.com you'll get a blog setup.  You can then email photos, videos, text, whatever... and posterous will automatically BLOG it for you.  There is no application menus to deal with through a web browser interface. I'm using blogger.com and activerain.com but I'm definitely liking posterous. Posterous will also embed lots of different file formats so your youtube video will automatically display when you email it.  In other words, you don't have to try and figure out how to link it, embed the link... blah, blah... blah.   One of my favorite fall events in New Hampshire is the Beaver Brook Association Fall Festival.   The theme this year is "Forever Nature"     The Beaver Brook Association encourages people from New Hampshire and neighboring states to enjoy nature.  There are activities to emphasize the importance of wildlife and environmental conservation.        Visitors from New Hampshire and beyond make it a point to attend.  Last year there were over 1200 attendees!        Each Year the Beaver Brook Association Fall Festival is preceded by the annual fundraiser.  This year the Art and Photography show will be held in the historic Maple Hill Barn on October 1st.          The mission of the fundraiser is to showcase the vitality of locally produced foods and their importance to our health, the local ... 09/20/2010

     New Hampshire's Old Home Days was established in 1899 by Gov. Hollis NH - Trail Maps As a busy real estate Broker with Integrity Residential Brokerage located in Pepperell, MA, it's sometimes challenging to carve out some time for R&R.  One of the ways I like to relax is to take my wonderful registered Morgan and hit the trails on weekends.  I always try to explore new trails and thought I'd try the Hollis NH Town Forest.  A quick internet search for Hollis NH Trail Maps and I was on my way! I live in Pepperell, MA and arrived at the Hollis NH Silver Lake State Park  parking lot in approximately 10 minutes.
