The Wild Things desperately long for a leader to guide them, just as Max longs for a kingdom to rule. When Max is crowned king, he promises to create a place where everyone will be happy. Over the Martin Luther King Day weekend, the Dover Stars Mite 1 team made the journey over the border to Montreal Canada for a great weekend of hockey.    On Friday, the team visited McGill University to watch the Redmen play against University Quebec Three Rivers.  Not only did the Stars watch McGill beat their arch rivals, but the Mites were able to play a mini game between first and second periods and visit the McGill locker room after the game.  The McGill players and coaches were very generous of their time with the Stars after the game, each player received a team picture and could get autographs from all the players and coaches.  On Saturday morning, the Stars played the West Island Kings at an outdoor rink in town.  A Winter Classic!  National anthems for both teams followed by...

The Dover New Hampshire, Mite 1 team, whom I happen to be assistant coach for, are heading to Montreal Canada on Friday 1/15/10. The Mite 1 team, The Dover Stars will be heading to Montreal for a fun filled weekend, starting with a skate in between periods at the McGill Redmen hockeygame on Friday night.  Then on Saturday morning we will be play in our own little version of the "winter classic" versus a local mite team.  This will consist of an outdoor game and a skills tournament.  Our second game of the weekend will be played in doors later that evening, with a night cap of bowling at a local bowling alley.  Our weekend of fun will commence on Sunday morning with another game against a local team at another indoor stadium. Looks like this is going to be a fun filled weekend and one th...

This is a story from our local newspaper, Foster's Daily Democrat.  I wanted to share this story because I think it's a great thing this young boy has done.  This is just another reason why I love living where I do.  The people around me are so loving and caring.   As an annual tradition, sixth grader Jay Gallipo, 11, asked his birthday party guests for non-perishable food items instead of gifts. He donated the boxes of food to St. Joseph's Food Pantry in Dover on Tuesday, Nov. 17.He chose this charity because it is so close to Thanksgiving, and it is a hard year for so many people.

This year, much like most others, I will be involved in a lot of community development and charitable organizations.  I came across one scholarship in particular that really struck a cord.  A local family, the Doucette's lost their son Brian in 2007 when a drunk driver struck a car he was riding in.  Brian was an all around athlete. Playing in multiple sports throughout his life.  Hockey was his passion.  In his memory, a scholarship was created.  The Brian W. Doucette scholarship is awarded every year to a local hockey player.  As many of you know, hockey is a large part of my life, and my families lives.  I grew up playing hockey, and now my son plays hockey.  We are a tight community that sticks together and helps eachother out through good times and bad. Amazing 3D 4D ultrasounds are now available to expectant moms in New Hampshire.  Ultrasounds during pregnancy are nothing new, I had them back in the eighties.  Ultrasounds are not what they used to be, though!  Most of us are familiar with yesterday's ultrasound photo...if you were lucky, you could make out the outline of the baby's body.  They were more like an ink blot test than a photo.Well, welcome to the future!  Today's 3D/4D ultrasound is a very detailed first look at your baby...it's like the blinds have been opened and you're actually seeing inside the womb.Baby Belly Boutique in North Hampton, New Hampshire is a very unique pregnancy imaging spa for both the expectant parents and any of their family or friends that they want to include in the experience.  You can contact Baby...

People can nourish their bodies and their community by treating themselves to organic pizza and helping to raise money for Our House for Girls.  The Flatbread Company at 138 Congress St. in Portsmouth will donate $3.25 for each pizza sold between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. on June 2 to Our House for Girls in Dover New Hampshire. This photo was taken today 5/2/09 in Dover New Hampshire.  While taking new photos of my listing 600 Sixth Street, Dover New Hampshire,I was out in front of the home, taking exterior photos, I heard a large "buzz" coming from the front of the home.  I knew it had to be one of two things.  Either it was several humming birds, or it was several bees pollinating.  It happened to be the bees pollinating a large rhododendron bush in the front of the house.  I knew I was safe getting close to the bush because the bees were too busy pollinating. If you look real close, you can see one of the many bees that surrounded the bush.  It was pretty neat to see, so I figured while I was there I would take the picture and share with you! For more information about Dover New Hampshire, or Dover New Ham...

One of the greatest things about Dover New Hampshire is it's wonderful park and recreation.  Located in the southern part of Dover New Hampshire,  Just off Dover Point Road is Hilton Park.  Hilton Park is a beautiful historic state park on the Piscataqua River, offering a playground, picnic area, boat launch, and grills. There are tow bridges spanning the entire length of the park.    Being one of the most historic parts of Dover, this is a great spot for tourist, or those new to the area to get a feel of the beauty of Dover.  Most people, like myself tend to pass the park on a daily commute and never stop to enjoy the beauty of the park. I was fortunate enough to work at a local restaurant throughout high school. When I was given a 1 hour break everyday, I would travel to Hilton park,...
