We have lived in Amherst for over 15 years and just love the character of the town...with access to shopping and most anything you need within minutes, yet it maintains its rural and country feel. We lived in historic Amherst Village for years, raising our son in town.  Some of my favorite things to do on the Amherst Village Green: They flood a field in town where families can go and ice skate (I liked that since you didn't worry about it being frozen and someone falling through the ice) The Amherst Green in the Village is the center of year round activities such as: The Easter Egg hunt is always fun The 4th of July Parade is a great event that brings in folks from all over Halloween, oh boy is that a good time...They close off many roads to traffic and kids and adults from all over to ...

Why buy NH real estste now?   Case Shiller gave an excellent example of why buyers should buy homes now... We hear it everyday, there is an abundant supply of NH homes and properties, prices are down, sellers are motivated and interest rates are low... Case notes that four years ago, the monthly payment on a $300,000 house with 20 percent down and a mortgage rate of 6.6 percent was $1,533. Today that $300,000 house would sell (on average) for $213,000 and a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage with 20 percent down would carry a rate of about 4.2 percent and a monthly payment of $833. What's more, the 20-percent down payment would be knocked down to $42,600 from $60,000.   We can't time the bottom on the NH real estate market, the experts don't know; the data suggests some price stability at thi...

Residents of Amherst gathered and celebrated the town's 250th anniversary yesterday. Many joined together on the village green to celebrate Heritage Days. Some interesting comments from townsfolk were... A resident who moved to Amherst 33 years ago from California for work, said he and his wife first assumed they would only live in the town for a few years, but soon found they wanted to stay. “One of the reasons we left California was because the quality of living there is not all it’s cracked up to be,”  “If people want to know where to live, [Amherst] is where they should live.” “The pace of life in California was much faster,” she said. “Here, you can slow down and enjoy life ... it’s just home.” Amherst is a quiet residential community and we love living here...for more on why to ma...

Amherst, New Hampshire Foreclosured, Short Sale and Bank Owned Real Estate Purchasing property at a Amherst NH foreclosure auction has many risks to a potential buyer and in most cases the bank will bid and take possession of the property at the auction. The property is then referred to as bank owned, REO (real estate owned) or foreclosed property. A home owner may attempt a "short sale" whereby the bank agrees to accept less than the mortgage balance based on the owner's hardship and financial status. Obtaining approval can be a long and difficult process. Additionally, there is no assurance that the lender will accept an offer at or above the listed price. Register at Amherst NH foreclosures (bank-owned) listings and short sale opportunities. We will contact you and provide: A list of...

My decision to come to Virtual Homes Real Estate was easy.  Around 85% of home buyers begin their search on the Internet searching for say Amherst, NH Real Estate or similar phrases.  Google is the most used Search engine across all browsers.  That means that if you list your home and do not appear on the FIRST results page of Google on a regular basis for Real Estate related searches, your home stands little chance of being found.  Page one Google positioning of the Virtual Homes Real Estate website is accomplished through blogging, keyword selection, social media exposure, linking strategies, and load times for the site from the server...all of this I have studied personally as I have a Master's in computer science and with the help of Fred Light my webmaster have implemented most of ...
