We stumbled upon this fantastic interactive map detailing U.S. housing price appreciation since 1975.  (Click or copy+paste this link http://www.estateofmindsites.com/subscriber_new/map.php?user_id=1&share=y ) The statistics included in this map make us even more excited to be in the real estate business in North Dakota!  Just over the past 5 years, North Dakota is one of only 9 states to have appreciated. The best part about living and working in Fargo Moorhead is be a part of a tight-knit community.  It's a great place to buy and sell real estate.  Most of us have grown up in the FM area and are happy with how the metro has grown over the years. We've also got several North Dakota State University alumni and an office full of die-hard Bison fans.  Over the weekend we watched NDSU tack on another victory (38-7) against Furman University in the second round of FCS playoffs. You would think nothing could slow Bison fans' momentum, and then the news dropped a bomb on us. Today is the the big Realtor Ring Day and we've busy ringing bells in Fargo!  Realtor Ring Day is an annual event (started right here in Fargo) where every Salvation Army kettle is manned by a Realtor for the entire day.  This evening we'll skip over the river to Moorhead where our team has a couple more shifts lined up. Unfortunately the weather wasn't the least bit concerned about our schedule! Currently in Fargo, ND it is a whopping -5°, "feels like -23°" and we're under a wind chill advisory.  That surely doesn't sound too pleasant, and for those of us that already completed a shift, it didn't feel too pleasant, but here in Fargo, it could certainly be worse! We've recently started to utilize video a bit more in our marketing here at The Erik Hatch Team.  While we're only scratching the surface right now, we've got big plans to get the most out of this resource as we can.  Research  has shown video to be increasingly important in a buyer's home search.  Check out this great article explaining the importance of video and why we should be putting forth a bit more energy to use this resource.  Rather than clicking through a list of photos, wouldn't you rather be guided through a home by an expert and really get a feel for the layout of the house?  I sure would!  That's one thing we plan to start doing, more virtual tours in addition to helpful home tips. Winter is here and so is the holiday season! This Friday, December 6th is Realtor Ring Day and The Erik Hatch Team will be out ringing bells in Fargo Moorhead and helping to raise money for the Salvation Army.  It all started in Fargo in 2010 by another local Realtor and has since grown to a tradition in 21 states throughout the country.  Our team is extremely pleased to be able to take part in this event.  What a great idea and a great cause.  Last year Realtor Ring Day in Fargo Moorhead raised $26,000 and we're shooting for $30,000 in 2013!  Local Realtors will be posted at 30 locations in Fargo Moorhead from 10am-8pm and a few local business have already agreed to match some of the donation amounts! Winter has officially hit us in Fargo Moorhead, making its grand entrance with a heap of snow.  Weather's not looking too spectacular over the next couple days so we're all relieved that it cooperated over the Thanksgiving weekend.  We're especially thankful for a successful event we hosted last Monday.  The Erik Hatch Team's 2nd Annual Thanksgiving Pie Giveaway filled our office with clients and friends as they stopped in to pick up a free pumpking pie from Fargo's Quality Bakery.  We're also thankful for our friends Lars Knobloch of Nordic Home Inspection and Brian Johnson of Valley Mortgage for chipping in a sponsoring our event.  After the event we were able to deliver 12 pies to the YWCA; some were extras and a few others were from our gracious clients that requested that their pie... 12/02/2013

Today is Veterans Day and we hope you took the time to thank a veteran for all the sacrifices they've made for all of us.  Most of us know at least one person who has served or is currently serving in the military and we can surely spare a minute of our time to send a thank you.
