So, here it is....  I have to be honest and put it out there!  I wrote a post the other day titled "Tired of the snow... come home"   and who would of thought...  Here we are with 3 inches of snow...   Now , in my own defense - Hawaii was the only state that day with no snow whatsoever...  But, I had to come clean now that it is all said and done!  It was a beautiful site on the beach, I must say!!!  There was absolutley no wind so we decided to take a walk - and build a snow man! If you can't beat'em - join'em right!

My husband had a friend send this to him...  While I actually like Al Gore, I thought this lament would give all of you stuck in snow storms right now a good laugh: In this vision I saw a prophet approach the great nation of America and declared " Thus saith the Lord, if thou worship the god Goreis and bow thy knee to the beast of global warming I will curse thee as I have not cursed Egypt. I will curse thee with snow in feet, not inches that will confound thy senses. Thou will'st curse thy children because they are not in school and destroy thy nerves with relentless boredom and house cleaning. Thy dogs shall stain thy floors. I will curse thee with sleet and ice that will try thy patience and cause thy SUV, s and expensive vehicles to slip and slide continuously as thou stocketh up mi...

Let me start by saying I am new to the Active Rain Community, But I am already addicted.  I love reading all the Blogs here....They are informative, educational and sometimes I can get a real laugh.  So Thank You to everyone who has welcomed me:) Today I would love to hear stories from anyone out there who has ever tried to become a preferred agent for a large corporation.  GE, Google, Corning....   Sure you can go to these companies and give them paperwork to be on a "list" of agents who have all done the same thing....  But, I have a feeling that some of you out there might have some interesting and creative stories to tell on the lengths you may have gone through to get a high profile client!!!!! Can't wait to read them! http://www.edhomeseller.com

What could be better than owning your own private walkway to your own piece of the beach at Wrightsville Beach? Nothing... but you need to consider certain things if you do want to buy an oceanfront home. Of course you have your own piece of one of the priciest beaches on the Atlantic coast. Unsurpassed views of sparkling turquoise water and white sandy beaches...They are pricey and ones in pristine condition are hard to find.It will take $ 3-4 million to buy a good one...Oceanfront properties require a lot of maintenance from the grates on the heat pump to the door handles which even if they are the finest nickel do weather - even in a year. The salt air is rough on an oceanfront property. Consider that you must paint a property much more frequently or within a shorter time span - 3...

The appeal of the beach beckons in the summer as a good part of the nation hits the road to visit their favorite beach for relaxation and rejuvenation.Their are many different types of properties to choose from and one is the Timeshare. The picture is of a timeshare currently on the market at Wrightsville Beach for $ 159,000, for 5 weeks per year use. This is generally a property that is shared between several members and the time for use is distributed among the owners during the year. This is attractive to many people but like everything has its pros and cons:Pros:Share owner is assured of his or her weeks throughout the year. Can probably switch with other members to get the weeks they want.Costs can be low for high end beach properties since they are shared among several members. Big changes are happening at Bluewater Waterfront Grill on Wrightsville Beach, NC.  Lou Moshakos, who purchased Bluewater Grill almost a year ago, is making a statement.  He's devoted to making Bluewater Waterfront Grill one of the hottest, must experience, destinations in Southeastern Coastal North Carolina.  Lou has made renovations to the Main Floor Dinning level by expanding the bar area to include six high-top tables which easily accommodate four patrons each.  The high-tops allow great views of boats passing by on the Intracoastal Waterway.  This sitting area is smoke-free but smokers don't be discouraged.  Bluewater allows smoking in the upstairs Captains Lounge and in all of the downstairs outside bar and dinning areas by the water.  Lou has also just completed renovations to th...

As many people know, Wrightsville Beach in the Wilmington, North Carolina area has the best ocean surfing on the east coast of the U.S. If you don't know that, it might interest you to know that we have lots of surfing tournaments here, that during the summer surf camps and school are a minor but very busy industry, and that surfers can be seen in the water pretty much year round. In this short video, which is admittedly a little silly (!), I demonstrate that just because I share the same name (Bruce Brown) of the guy who made the original surfing move "The Endless Summer" in 1966, that doesn't mean I have a lot of sense when it comes to going to the beach. Bottom line: Olive oil is a great moisturizer, but not good at all as a sunscreen!

What a beautiful February day we had today!  Temperatures were in the mid-60's, and it was a great day to be outdoors.  Many enjoyed walking or jogging "The Loop"  This is a 2.45 mile sidewalk circling the heart of Wrightsville Beach.  There is usually activity on the Loop regardless of the weather.  Those that drive over the bridge to walk the Loop generally begin at Wrightsville Beach Park, where there is ample parking.  There are several stopping points along the way, pet waste disposals, and water fountains.  The walk takes you over two bridges, both crossing Banks Channel, which offers awesome views.  Be sure to check out the botanical garden maintained by the Harbor Island Garden Club.  There you will see metal artwork, flowers, and birdhouses.  It's quite relaxing to walk the Lo...
