Waxhaw NC Real Estate Market Report—January-March 2011 Lower-priced homes dominated the market in Waxhaw NC during the first quarter of 2011.  The median sales price of $215,000 was 15.5% lower than the median price for 2010.  The highest single family sales price during the first quarter was $352,500.  Twenty one homes sold during this period.  Only one townhome sold during the first quarter of 2011. At the height of the Real Estate boom, required down payments were at an all time low. In June of 2006, the average down payment percentage on the purchase of a single family residence was 4%. If you had good credit and could breath, there were mortgage brokers who would provide you with a 100% loan with no documentation. All we needed was your name, address, and Social Security Number. Thank goodness for "First Friday" in Waxhaw, NC Every month the town of Waxhaw, NC holds a "First Friday" event.  There is always a theme to the event and businesses stay open a few hours more for people to enjoy.  The hours are 5-9:30 p.m. The theme for this "First Friday" in February will be...Valentine's Day and celebrated February 4th.
