If you're in the Triangle area and are wondering where all that smoke/haze is from, it's not your neighbor's burn pile. Or a local dump. Or anything local! In fact, it's quite a ways away! According to some local sources, there are at least 3 different fires that may be contributing to the local smoky air: one in Pender County, one in Dare County, and another controlled burn at Fort Bragg. You can read a lot about the fire that's been burning in Dare County at the Alligator National Wildlife Refuge at their Facebook Page. That fire has been burning since May 5th!
