Today was a glorious Sunday that we spend with our children and grandchildren.  After church, we dined on a Sunday Dinner that consisted of nice Roast Beef, Rice and Gravy, Field peas, butter beans, stewed squash and onions, ice tea and topped off by homemade Peach Ice cream. Bicycling is a great activity in Boiling Spring Lakes.  It has lightly traveled paved roads available for the avid road cyclist as well as the beach cruiser variety.  Ride with the Brunswick Pedalers on one of their organized rides.  Be sure to bring your required helmet to participate with this dedicated group. 05/31/2009

Today was a family day.  First event was soccer for our 7 year old grandchild.  It is so much fun seeing the young ones learning life skills on a soccer field.  That is what we saw today.  When you are behind....you work hard to do the right things and to pull together as a team to make it work.  We saw that happen today. What an exciting day! I went shopping for the Birthday Party of our little princess, Marissa.  She is the most delightful child who makes us all smile all the time.  Never a bad moment.  I surely hope that this sweetness continues for the rest of her life because she is a joy to us and to those around her. Grand Child is having her 1st Birthday today..  She is a precious little thing that was born at home one year ago today.  No time to get to the hospital. We will be celebrating with her tonight in her home with a cookout and all of the fixins'. Today I had a successful Open House in Boiling Spring Lakes NC. Another agent and I chose 4 of our home to hold open. She provided the Pizza and Salad and I provided the desserts and coffee. We had about 17 folks to come and see these houses. Anytime you can get an agent into a house that you have listed, is good. Today we are having a bit of rain..again.. Yes, the garden is growing well....but so are the weeds. Maybe the veggies can get a head start if we try to iliminate the weeds. I sometimes find it hard to get back into the swing of things when I have had a weekend with famiy and friends.  Do you have a hard time too?  The grandchildren were here from Greensboro and we did the cookout thing, swimming in the creek, the Ocean and the Pool. Today has been a weekend filled with family and friend for the holiday.  It has been a  great day with them all.  We started the weekend out by fixing a great spagetti supper for 14 to enjoy.  Going on with nice roast beef with rice and gravy, peas, string beans, corn, spiced apples, biscuits with Peach cobbler for dessert. Today the children swam in the creek, did some crabbing, went to the ocean for swim and washed off in the pool...then we ate barbecued ribs and chicken for a late dinner.   This is a special time remembering those who have fought so valiantly to defend this great county of ours.   God Bless. Well, Another rainy day in Southport!  If we didn't need the rain that much I would be blue..but the fact is that we do need this rain.  We need it because we had been in a drought for much of last year.  This rain is a Godsend to us.  The garden is planted and we are seeing the fruits of our labor coming up all around.  Even the field peas are up and growing. Today we had rain again.  Luckily we planted our seeds this past weekend and then the rain came. We had laid the garden out for the butter beans, sweet potatoes, squash, tomatoes, and cucumbers.   Then as an added bonus, Jimmy put in giant sunflowers to brighten the garden. Hi All, Today we were celebrated by our owners for being the "Best of the Best" with our company.  Criteria being that you have to have so many sales and so many listings in the first quarter of the year.  I think that is wonderful to be recognized for the hard work that you do.  Our company provided us with a nice lunch and then talked with us about the market here in the Southport ~ Wilmington area of North Carolina. This was such a great day today.  Spending time with my family.   Going to Church and hearing a great sermon about "Mothers"...WE had two of our grandsons (3 and 7 ) to spend last night with us.  They are the greatest.  After breakfast, we went into the yard ot find a red flower for them (meaning their mother is still alive) ..one for my husband, his mother is 92, and a white one for me (I lost my mother in 2000.  It is a tradition that my parents started with us as children. Mother's Day in Southport/Oak Island is a smashing time of the year. The beach is gorgeous. Water temp around 70 degrees.  Fishing is good they tell me, I'll try to go for awhile with my fishing friend if the weather holds.   Maybe a picture or two would be enjoyable for you'all. A Blessed Happy Mother's Day to all . Wow, the days seem to be flying by right now.  Is that what happens as we grow older?
