Making More Grape Jelly

Jimmy and I picked a bucket of grapes, so this morning I am cooking them to make the juice for the jelly. This is a long process because the grapes have to cook down and get as much flavor as you can. These are Muscadine Grapes, so the jelly will be a lovely color of purple. Traditionally, we put the grapes in a large square plastic box and let each of the grandchildren stomp them for a bit. It is the best way to get all of the juice out of the grapes. Could not get them all together to do this ..this year but they got stomped anyway. Tonight, we will add sugar and cook and put in to sterilized jars. This is a process that takes about 2 1/2 hours from the washing of the grapes. What great fun..and the taste is wonderful..
