Hi All! I am still  wondering how to get Linking points in the system.  I have worked on this for anhour or so with no success.  I do not understan what a tag is either.  Tags are not key words.I know that some of you are laughing at this old dog learning new tricks.  But at least I amwilling to learn.  Ginger Willis Harper 12/01/2016

 I have been learning from a  dear friend and agent, by the name of Thomas, for teaching me a few tricks to ActiveRain.com.  I know that we have so much to learn from each other and to share.   Just little simple trick of our business that can help to make the phone ring.  I learned about linking in the body of my blogging that will take you straight to my website.  This may be a simple thing for the more experiences bloggers but I have not taken a course on Blogging yet.  That is one of my goals for 2015.  To get more involved and learn as much as I can. My hat is off to many of the "specialist"...The more you Blog the more you learn. What a treat.Thanks Thomas,Ginger of Southport 06/08/2015

  Charles Dickens Christmas Festival is taking place here November 30 - December 1.  It is a time in our town when we dress up like the characters in the Dickens books.  So much fun to see the town with folks in period costumes dress up and doing their thing.  Today, I was a Hostess in the Fellowship Hall for the Wreath Displays, Tree Displays and the Ginger Bread House displays.  Those that visited with us were asked to vote for their favorite Tree, wreath and Ginger Bread house displays.  Cash prices were awarded.. Tomorrow I will be the hostess at the Amuzu Theatre and will be showing folks around and telling them more about Dickens and the books that he wrote.   Hi All! If you Price your listings by today's standards, after doing a CMA,  it will sell. WE have been dealing with this for a couple of years now...(thinking of 2005). WE had folks buying up lots on Oak Island for $220,000 and now their worth is only about $40,000.  I am finding it difficult to tell a buyer that they can only get $40,000 for a lot that they paid $220,000 at the height of the Market. I think that it is almost better for them to give it back to the bank...but that is one of the reasons that we are in the position that we are in now..       Believe it or not.  I have had a very busy spring and summer.    Last 2 weeks have been much like 2005 for me. I did 9 transactions and they are all working.  I am not a part of a team but do have an excellent assistant, Denise that has been with me for many years.  Do not know what I would do with out her...(She is on Vacation next week)..    As I grow older, I wonder how much longer I am going to be the real estate agent that I am now.  I think I want  to start slowing down a bit.. But I will ride this high for as long as it goes.. I do hope that you are having the same results now also.  It is harder but at least if you keep working it will come..           08/11/2013

Duty time is an opportunity to make a new connection.  The phone is ringing off the hook right now.  Does this mean that our market is stabilizing or coming back... Well, I find myself having Duty time today.  (A better way to say Opportunity Time).  Actually I have been enjoying it.  It is the first exposure that your company makes when some one calls on the phone or walks through the door. We need to ponder that a minute.  What you say or do...the minute someone walks in or calls in is the first impression that those folks have of your company. We need to remember that. I am definitely prepping for the Market Shift.  This reminds me so much of what happened in 2004 and beginning of 2005.  Not saying that we are going to have a BUBBLE like we did then, but the market is shifting. 1.  One of the questions that was asked is."How will this shift affect buyer agents vs sellers agent?  I think that both are going to be affected.  Buyers agents need to encourage their buyers to go ahead and make a decision and to purchase the property that they are interested in.  Sellers agents need to follow the market carefully to alert the sellers and to increased market prices. 2. What marketing strategies wil you need to change?  The market is getting stronger here and it is becoming less of a buyers market and the sellers are more in control. 3. One of my agents just told me that she was blogging with a friend and one of her friends...friends....saw her site and asked if she was in real estate. Of course, my agent told her that she was. Seems like I have been working harder than ever trying to maintain a level of business that allows me to succeed and grow my business in 2013. I find that it is harder and harder to obtain and maintain my market share in the County. But I am seeing more activity than I saw the later part of last year.  If you are having the same problem, please share with me your ideas on how we can move forth in getting our share and more. Yesterday after dinner;  that consisted of  Roast Beef and gravy, Rice, corn, Butterbeans, garden peas, fresh corn, rolls and butter, friendship cake  and sweet ice tea.   After Dinner, the two boys, Jonah and Joshua, went out to do build waterworks.  First the dug a ditch in the drive way and devised a way to make the water run from top to bottom of the driveway.  Messy but fun for them.  I love it when they are so creative, ( We will fill in the ditch later)   Great day to say the least.   Shallotte 60th Annual Christmas ParadeEveryone loves a parade!!   Christmas Parade with Santa Claus.Saturday December 1st at 10:00 am the Shallotte Christmas Parade will start at N.C. 130 stoplight  and travel along Main Street stopping at the Shallotte Crossing stoplight at Smith Avenue.The parade expects approximately 100 participants which will feature floats, horses, antique cars, motorcycles, four wheelers, fire trucks, cheerleaders and marching bands. Special guest will be SANTA CLAUS who will be traveling in the parade on a Shallotte Fire Truck towards the end of the parade. 11/30/2012

  Brunswick Beacon Celebrating 50-Year Anniversary with Open HouseOur local community newspaper, The Brunswick Beacon is celebrating it's 50 year anniversary with an Open House scheduled for November 15 th, Thursday. The staff of the Brunswick Beacon will be hosting the celebration with a brief ceremony at 4:15 pm. Visitors are welcome between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm.
