I just rented this great house in Midtown Raleigh for $2700/month.  I initially met with the owners two months ago who were just finishing up construction on their new home.  They were a referral from another great client.  They gave me the grand tour of their beautiful home, asked questions about what it's like to be a landlord, and told me they would think it over.  The wife was not totally on board with the idea of renting their family home, and they decided to concurrently list it for sale and rent. #Raleigh Real Estate Market Statistics for December 2013 December was a fantastic month for Real Estate in Raleigh NC.  Closed Sales were up +21.4% when compared to the same time in 2012, Pending Sales were up +20.0% and the Average Sales Price was also up +6.5%.  While activitiy was for sales was up the actual inventory of listings was down -7.3% which helped contribute to a swing into a Sellers Market.  Remember the supply and demand lessons you learned in high school?  The same applies here - less homes for sale + buyers demand = SELLERS market. I often write about Lake Lynn, a City of Raleigh park that consists of a small lake and a 2 1/4 mile asphalt track around it.  I usually walk around the lake four or five times a week.  It's beautiful in all seasons! Recently I discovered a new addition to the Lake -- a box that proclaimed itself "Lake Lynn Journal."  Inside were two laminated pages that explained its purpose.  Apparently, journals such as this one are a nationwide movement, and everyone is invited to write an entry.  Also inside the box was a small spiral-bound notebook and several pens.  I sat and read the entries for a while, and then made an entry myself.
