Jordan Lake NC:  Fishing, Boating, Hiking, Camping, and More!   Jordan Lake Jordan Lake is one of the many treasures surrounding the Raleigh/Triangle.  When I first moved here, I commuted to Sanford every day from Holly Springs.  I saw the exit sign for Jordan Lake, but I had no idea how large this lake was, or how beautiful!  There are almost 14,000 acres of water.  But I have a hard time picturing how much water that is.    How about this:  It's about 12 miles from the northern tip to the southern reaches. The northern tip of Jordan Lake touches the Durham County/Chatham County line, and the southern tip nearly reaches the Harnett County/Chatham County line.   Between the various outlets and fingers, the widest stretch of lake is nearly 6 miles across!      Jordan Lake State Recreatio...

Hi  I just had to talk about two Beautiful Properties in Chatham County.  This area is growing very fast and I had the wonderful opportunity to visit these properties yesterday with a good Friend Andy May who is a lender in the Raleigh Area.  he organized a Bus Tour of this area with luncheon and it was fabulous. The first is The Hamptons a 182 acre community in Chatham County.  Wow is all I can say what a beautiful piece of property being developed by Windjam lots are being sold in the 200K to 350K range and homes will start I believe at 900K to over 2Million.  Rolling hills abound in Historic Pittsboro, NC.  This property was owned in the 1800's by a doctor and still has the original property that he lived and worked in then with its original stone well that the house was built around...

Rainwater Collection Systems in the Raleigh Area    Worried about water restrictions and the condition of your lawn?  You may want to consider a rain collection system.     Remember water pouring out of your gutters, down the driveway, and into the storm drain in a Southern summer rainstorm, only to have to add to your water bill four days later when your parched lawn urges you to get out the hose? What if that water didn't have to travel all the way through storm drains, to creeks and streams, into the lake, then to the water treatment plant, then back through a huge system of underground pipes in order for you to use it?  A rainwater cistern of your very own may be the answer - and it may cost less and give back more than you think. How much water lands on my roof? In the Raleigh are...

Scary headlines, lately. Triangle home resales down 26.5% in October. If we go by what we read in the press, the market sounds as good as dead.  What a surprise to potential buyers, who think they can pick up a home for nearly nothing, only to find that home sales in the Triangle remain very much alive - especially in hot price points. What's causing the perception that the news is all bad, when sales are still hopping? Focusing on a small part of the picture. Concentrating on resale numbers, without factoring in new home sales. Take a look at the Multiple Listing Service (MLS), used across the country by real estate agents who list homes for sale, whether resale or new construction. These MLS numbers don't include homes for sale by owner, or the large national builders. Here's what the...
