The real estate sign restrictions in Pinehurst, NC are very strict and as a real estate agent we must abide by the rules and regulations set forth by the Village of Pinehurst.  Homeowners, who choose to try and sell their property on their own, must also abide by these rules and regulations.  Gated communities within Pinehurst do not allow 'For Sale' signs at all!  But, if you're not in a gated community and it's a single family residence or a vacant building lot, then chances are you can use a 'For Sale' sign. When looking for real estate in Pinehurst a lease with an option to purchase may be a possibility for you. What is a lease with an option to purchase? How does it work? And which homes does it apply to? If you have a lease with the option to purchase, the buyer and seller agree on a purchase price an option fee and the monthly lease price.  In Pinehurst as in all of NC you must have an attorney write the contract. Real Estate agents can assist in finding a home with a lease option and negotiating all the terms, but we can not do the contract. RECYCLING MADE EASIER FOR PINEHURST, NC RESIDENTS The Village of PINEHURST will soon make it easier for residents to recycle!  Currently, us Pinehurst residents have to provide our own recycle containers, which we have to carry out to the street.  I don't know about you, but my recycling container can get very heavy!!!  As a matter of fact, I accumulate more recyclables than I do trash on a weekly basis.  The Village of Pinehurst recently announced that they will automate its recycling program this coming May by distributing Recycling Containers to all Pinehurst residents who participate in recycling.  These recycling containers will make it easier because they have wheels on them, similar to the trash containers that we are all using now.  The Village will distribute 96 gallon containe... 01/20/2011

Pine Forest is a proposed Golf development less than 10 miles from Pinehurst that is being submitted for approval to the Moore County board of Commissioners. The developer who is MHK Ventures, Inc has previously had this proposal  on the county agenda but needed to stepped back a bit for further planning. Primarily the developer has to show the Moore County Department of Public Utilities how it plans to provide water and wastewater treatment and be approved by the Utility Department before the Commissioners can consider the development for approval. When initially presented to the board, the plan was to pay nearby Montgomery County water to the development and build a private tertiary wastewater treatment plant for irrigation for the golf courses. The Pinehurst Area is a great place to retire. Why? There are many reasons and the first one that most people think of is golfing. There are more than 40 golf courses in the area. Pinehurst Country Club itself has eight and there are three in Pinewild Country Club which is located in Pinehurst. The trend in NEW Construction is 'Build It Smaller & They Will Buy It'.  The average Pinehurst Buyer is no longer looking for the biggest house on the block.  They are shopping for the most affordable house on the block, which usually means less square footage. The majority of the Builders in Pinehurst are building smaller homes with a square footage range of 1,800 - 2,500 HSF.  The Buyer's for these homes are wanting either three bedrooms and an office OR four bedrooms, therefore, it proves difficult to squeeze in a Formal Dining Room.  If you do squeeze it into the floor plan, then the room is so small that you can't even use a large dining table comfortably, so what's the point?...and, forget about adding a hutch or a sidebar!... 01/13/2011

Even though January is a quiet month here in the Pinehurst area you can still find good food and drinks and some live music to listen to with family and friends. It's Wednesday1/12/11 and time to think of things to do in the Pinehurst Area this weekend.  Why wait until the weekend. Sandhills Winery in Seven Lakes offers a wine tasting every Thursday. Sandhills wine shop is located at 1057 Seven Lakes Drive in Seven Lakes, NC. It is open Tuesday through Saturday until 7 or when the last customer leaves. Tomorrow is Thursday and the usually do appetizers along with wines that compliment the choice of food for the week.
