After looking at the data in the chart below it looks like summer is not the best time to sell a house in Manteo. The chart below represents the total dollar amount of homes sold in Manteo during each month of 2015. This data tracks the actual closed sales, closed sales mean the buyer and seller  exchanged money for a deed. It takes 30-40 days to get all the paperwork done for a closing to occur. It depends on how closely you dissect the data. Homes on the north end of Roanoke Island saw a decrease in the median price while home on the south end, where Manteo proper is actually located, saw an increase in the median price. The town of Manteo also experienced an increase in the number of homes sold. While the rest of the island is still stagnant, home prices in Manteo are actually going up.
